    Abstract: A high data rate UWB system implements a frame structure that uses a connected set of m-sequences comprising the lowest possible cross-correlation and perfect, or near perfect autocorrelation. Each m-sequence can be used to identify a different piconet. A very efficient code matched filter can then be used to decode the frames and achieve synchronization with a piconets.

    Abstract: A UWB system comprising a plurality of piconets, wherein each piconet uses a different code to generate a preamble for use in communicating with a plurality of remote communication devices. The preamble can be generated from the combination of repeated versions of the code, negative versions of the code, and no code or zero, the codes used have a perfect autocorrelation function and optimal cross-correlation.
