In some embodiments, one or more media items may be received from a mobile device by an external device. A survey may be selected based on receiving the one or more media items. The survey may also be provided to the mobile device. For example, a mobile device may send a photograph of a meal to the external device, and a survey may be selected based on the received photograph.

    Abstract: This is generally related to techniques for collecting and processing consumer document information. Consumers can transmit documents, such as receipts, to a host system. To transmit the documents, the documents can be scanned with a desktop scanner and transmitted via a web interface, forwarded via e-mail, photographed and transmitted via a mobile phone's e-mail or MMS capability, transmitted via a dedicated smart phone application, etc. Images of the document can be stored in a central archive, such that the consumer can access online images of their documents at any time and from any place. Submitted receipts can be interpreted by the host system to determine receipt information such as merchant, payment method, date, price, coupons, items purchased and/or returned, and the like. The interpreted information can be used to produce a wide range of reports that can be of value to the consumer, the host system, and/or merchants.

    Abstract: The method for conducting a survey of users of an information document site located on a computer network includes embedding computer program instructions into an information document located at the site, where the instructions invoke a survey program, launching the survey program when a user accesses the information document, and activating the survey according to offering criteria based upon either a random or systematic participant selection. The method selects a survey participant from the users of the information document and then offers the participant an opportunity to access the survey by presenting the survey to the participant.

    Abstract: A method and system for data processing open-ended respondent answers to open-ended questions provides reproducible categorized dynamically variable coding of the open-ended respondent answers to the open-ended questions. The data processor (200) has an updateable retrievable word dictionary fo words stored therein with the open-ended answers comprising words. The open-ended answers are input to the data processor (102,106) and classified (108) into corresponding word types such as keywords, modifiers, skip words, connectors, and negative words, with the combined keywords and associated modifiers forming key phrases. The input words are convered (112) into corresponding binary coded words for providing a binary defined sentence corresponding to the input open-ended respondent answer.
