Patent number: 6939287Abstract: A magnetotherapeutic device incorporates bio-ceramic fibers so as to provide simultaneous magnetotherapy and far infra-red wave therapy. Generally encased in clear plastic or the like, the magnetotherapeutic device of the present invention may take the form of a transparent disk having a plastic rim. A stainless cap may provide an attractive top surface into which a logo or symbol may be embossed. It also enhances the magnetic affects on the side opposite the stainless steel cap, the side that is applied to the body. A strong magnet such as one incorporating neodymium may underlie the stainless steel cap to provide magnetotherapy in the present invention. Bio-ceramic fibers emitting the far infra-red wavelengths of 8–14 microns underlie the strong neodymium magnet. A mat of woven bio-ceramic fibers or the like may provide such a structure.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 2003Date of Patent: September 6, 2005Assignee: Nu-Magnetics, Inc.Inventors: Vincent Ardizzone, Anthony Bove

Patent number: 6846379Abstract: A magnetic insole provides cushioned magnetotherapy for the soles of a wearer's feet. A laminated insole in the general shape of a foot is inserted into a shoe to provide magnetotherapy to the wearer's foot adjacent the sole. Collateral therapeutic effects may be effected as such magnetotherapy may affect the nerve endings in the foot and collateral, corresponding, or related tissue structures in the body. A flexible magnetic core provides alternating magnetic fields in a regular pattern thereby to provide magnetotherapy to the foot. A cushioning base acts as an underpad for the magnetic insole in order to provide greater comfort and cushioning for the user's foot. The flexible magnetic core is constructed by mixing strontium ferrite, barium ferrite, or other strongly ferromagnetic material and with an elastic binder such as neoprene.Type: GrantFiled: October 23, 2001Date of Patent: January 25, 2005Assignee: Nu-magnetics, Inc.Inventors: Anthony Bove, Vincent Ardizzone

Patent number: 6692427Abstract: Flexible and elastic magnetic joint wraps incorporate superstrong magnets with alternating polarities to provide enhanced magnetotherapeutic effects. Magnetotherapeutic joint wraps that are flexible and elastic incorporate superstrong magnets in an attachably detachable manner so as to provide magnetotherapy to joints and surrounding tissues. NEOPRENE® or the like may incorporate superstrong magnets such as those based on iron (magnetic ferrite) or neodymium (particularly neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB)) in order to provide superstrong static magnetism by which magnetotherapy may be effected. Elements that are generally oppositely opposed serve to detachably attach portions of the magnetic wrap to one another so that the magnetic joint wrap may conform to the local shape and form of the area adjacent the joint. Such attachment elements may include VELCRO® hook and loop fasteners as well as buttons, snaps, and the like.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 2002Date of Patent: February 17, 2004Assignee: Nu-Magnetics, Inc.Inventors: Anthony Bove, Vincent Ardizzone

Patent number: 6648812Abstract: A device for applying a time-varying magnetic field to a human or animal body for therapeutic purposes comprising magnetic unit that is made to rotate about two separate axes at the same time housed within non-magnetic components, which insrotatably housed in a non-magnetic free moving member, which itself may rotating about an axis oblique to the axis of rotation of the magnet. The device may be held in the operator's hand or attached to his or her clothing, and is powered by a small electric motor that drives the gears necessary to produce the separate rotary movements. One axis of rotation is in the direction of a rod mounted to the magnet, and the other axis is along an imaginary line that runs through the center of the magnet body, roughly perpendicular to the rod. The two rotational movements of the magnet produce both a time-varying field of magnetic flux density and a time-varying field of angular flux displacement.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 2002Date of Patent: November 18, 2003Assignee: Nu-Magnetics, Inc.Inventor: Vincent Ardizzone

Patent number: 6626820Abstract: A magnetic mattress pad comprising an uppermost portion, an upper portion, a lower portion and alternating magnetic means for providing changes in magnetic polarity. The alternating magnetic means are disposed in cavities in the upper portion and the lower portion, but the alternating magnetic means are not located in the uppermost portion. The alternating magnetic means comprises a plurality of continuous, or uni-pole, magnets and a plurality of triangularboard button magnets. The plurality of uni-pole magnets are distributed in an asymmetrical fashion and the plurality of triangularboard button magnets are located only in the upper portion whereby the magnetic mattress pad provides highly magnetic magnetotherapy while one rests or sleeps.Type: GrantFiled: April 29, 2002Date of Patent: September 30, 2003Assignee: Nu-Magnetics, Inc.Inventor: Vincent Ardizzone

Patent number: 6322491Abstract: A magnetic insole provides magnetotherapy for the soles of a wearer's feet. Patent number: 6293900Abstract: An eye mask or face mask incorporating sources of spatially alternating yet static magnetic fields provides magneto-therapy to the eyes and/or face. In one embodiment, an eye mask is provided that has an opaque eye plate and opaque rearwardly projecting cushion about its perimeter. A sheet of alternating magnetic material provides alternating magnetic fields when travel is made in any direction. The eye mask may be attached to the face by elastic straps or other means which may be adjusted for comfort. The perimeter cushion serves to hold the eye mask away from the eyes and projecting eyelashes of the wearer so that greater comfort is achieved. The opaque nature of both the eye plate and the cushion serves to keep light out, allowing the eyes to enjoy a dark environment, especially appropriate for sleep. The eye mask may be worn during lengthy periods of repose such as sleeping.Type: GrantFiled: August 15, 1997Date of Patent: September 25, 2001Assignee: Nu-Magnetics, Inc.Inventors: Anthony Bove, Vincent Ardizzone

Patent number: 6065210Abstract: A method for manufacturing a magnetotherapeutic back massager. A roller blank having a central cylindrical core circumscribed by a pair of spaced apart circular projections receives magnets in the circular projections to provide magnetic properties to the resultingly constructed magnetotherapeutic back massager. Preferably, the magnets are arranged so as to alternate polarity and a magnet-supporting strip holds the magnets together prior to and during the association of the magnets with the circular projections. The circular projections may have indentations or grooves to accommodate the magnets. Once the magnets have been associated with the circular projections, the magnets are more permanently attached by applying additional material to the circular projections so as to seal the magnets to the circular projections. The sealing material may be the same as that used to construct the roller blank, preferably latex rubber.Type: GrantFiled: June 2, 1998Date of Patent: May 23, 2000Assignee: Nu-Magnetics, Inc.Inventor: Thomas A.
