  • Publication number: 20230181788
Abstract: A sanitizer has substrates which are coated with an optically-activated nanomaterial TiO2 coating for cleaning air which comes into contact with the surfaces of the coating. UV LED light sources are arranged to emit light to be incident on the surfaces to activate the coatings. There is a large surface for impingement of air on the coatings due to a grille arrangement of the substrates, and the LED-emitted UV light being incident at acute angles on the grille honeycomb structure.

  • Publication number: 20210324658
Abstract: A handle for a cabinet, has a translucent rod with a photocatalytic antimicrobial TiO2 external coating, and a pair of supports each engaging an end of the rod and being affixed to a cabinet door. One support has an array of two LEDs for emission of light into the rod, one LED emitting blue light and the other emitting white light. There is total internal reflection within the rod, for very effective incidence on the coating.

  • Publication number: 20180274851
Abstract: An illuminator has an elongate tubular body containing LEDs on a substrate and a lens forming a bridge over the LEDs. The tubular housing has a transparent top part to act as an outer lens and diffuser. The housing is connected at each end to an end cap via a resilient seal which is moulded into the end cap. The internal lens is compact and provides a versatile choice of illuminator configuration for desired illumination. A convex curved lower lens s profile ensures efficient transmission of emitted light without colour separation. The extent of sealing is very short due to the closed tube nature of the housing and the short perimeters for sealing of the ends of the body to the end caps.

  • Publication number: 20170023221
Abstract: A luminaire (100) has an elongate tubular shell (1) and an elongate internal chassis (2) within the shell dividing space within the shell between a first compartment for electrical components and a second compartment for optical components (7, 6). The luminaire has a sealing cap (3, 4) at each end, and at least one of which supports an auxiliary active component for an application such as emergency lighting or car parking management. The shell (1) has features 1(a) for desired optical properties. The only seals are at the ends, between the end caps and the shell, and these are via sealing rings (17).

  • Publication number: 20130201675
Abstract: An illuminator (1) an elongate inner housing (10) having a substrate (20) on which there is a linear array of light emitting diodes (24), wherein the diodes have sufficient power for illuminating objects at a distance of at least 1.5 m. A drive circuit (30, 31) is mounted in an upper compartment of an outer housing (2) at least partly surrounding the inner housing (10). There is a diffuser (22) over the diodes. There is a pair of side reflectors extending substantially parallel to an axis of the illuminator, being side walls (26) of the inner housing. The inner housing (10) is coupled to the outer housing (2) in a modular manner so that it is interchangeable. There is a series of reflector baffles (23) extending from a plane of the diodes at intervals along the length of the inner housing. The baffles (23) have textured surfaces and have a dimension normal to the substrate sufficient to act as visors to limit glare in the longitudinal direction.

  • Patent number: 7976181
Abstract: An illuminator comprises an elongate body; and engagement means for engaging a display cabinet shelf at a front edge. Light emitting diodes are mounted on inner surfaces of the body for product illumination. The diodes are mounted for mutually divergent and at least partially inwardly-directed fields of illumination. The diodes include a top set of diodes arranged for illumination above a shelf and a bottom set of diodes for illumination below a shelf. The illuminator may further comprise a light guide for direction of light from behind the diodes to an outer surface of the body, and the diodes being mounted on a transparent substrate. The body may comprise a label holder for supporting a label across an outer surface of the body.

  • Patent number: 7871176
Abstract: An illuminator has two lines of LEDs on inwardly-directed faces of an elongate body which forms a mullion for a display cabinet. Heat conduction through the body to outer surfaces provides the durable effect of anti-sweat heating to prevent condensation in doors of the cabinet.
