  • Patent number: 4116395
Abstract: A device for bobbin doffing on a spinning frame. The device comprises a conduit connected to a suction source and means for replacing the bobbin with a yarn winding tube. This suction conduit is carried to move its suction inlet between a first position adjacent the yarn length stretched between a spinning unit and the bobbin, and a second position at which a pusher brings the yarn in contact with the surface of said winding tube. The invention is particularly suitable for use on open end spinning frames.

  • Patent number: 4084759
Abstract: A method for winding up a yarn reserve on a winding tube for a bobbin. The method comprises the steps of: continuously sucking the spun yarn, causing it to move through a circular yarn guide-positioning element, removably arranged coaxially with a yarn suction orifice; removing yarn positioning element from the suction orifice while the yarn being supplied and continuously passing therethrough; positioning said element above a yarn adherence zone of tube; breaking the yarn passing through the positioning element allowing the supplied yarn end to fall down on the tube adherence zone and into guide device, with yarn end facing externally of the tube end, and forming yarn reserve turns before winding the yarn bobbin.

  • Patent number: 4069654
Abstract: Cleaning device for spinning units. According to the invention, the device is placed on a carriage movable along a set of spinning units. The device comprises a pressure fluid supply and a suction supply carried by the carriage. The pressure fluid supply is selectively connectable to a blowing nozzle opening internally of the chamber of each of the spinning units, whereas the suction supply is selectively connectable with a suction duct opening in the spinning chamber and containing a check valve, the opening of which is controlled by the depression or vacuum built up by the suction supply.

  • Patent number: 3988879
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for yarn length measuring according to rotations of a shaft. Rotation of said shaft generates reference pulses which are converted on a manually settable device, into count pulses with a frequency ratio presettable in accordance with the ratio of the yarn length to be measured and a fixed count capability. Counters are provided for each working station of a textile machine which, independently, effecting the count for a same number of count pulses as said counting capability.

  • Patent number: 3975925
Abstract: An automatic positioning device for the control cams of the needle selecting cylinders on a circular knitting machine. According to the invention, the device comprises a portion fixed to the machine frame and a portion movable and rotating with the needle cylinder. The movable portion of the device comprises a cam support movable between extreme positions and cooperating with a retaining means operable by the fixed portion of the device to release, lock the cam and maintain it at predetermined positions between said extreme positions. On the other hand, the fixed portion of the device comprises a release member for said retaining means and cam positioning members, the cam release and positioning members being operated through linkages by a mechanical programming device. In known prior art devices such as U.S. Pat. No. 3,766,753, a control cam is disclosed which has several profiles. The cam is positioned in a vertical direction in order to bring a desired profile into alignment with a cam follower.

  • Patent number: 3959994
Abstract: A lock for circular knitting machines. According to the invention, a lock or cam comprises a fixed lock element supporting or carrying cams defining the guide tracks for the knitting needle heels, causing the outgoing and re-entering movements of said needles; such cams are secured to a slider movable between extreme positions within a guide of said fixed lock element. The slider has a threaded portion engaging a first screw thread of a manually operable adjusting element for the slider stroke, which adjusting element is provided with a second screw thread in opposite direction to the former; this second screw thread screwing in a threaded seat of the fixed lock element, so that at a rotation of said adjusting element there would correspond an overall displacement of the cam carrying slider equal to the sum of the displacement of said slider relative to the adjusting element and of that of the latter relative to said fixed element.
