Abstract: A printing system is provided which includes a printing head for applying at least one ink to a printing substrate and at least one radio frequency (RF) drying unit for discharging RF energy, thereby drying the ink on the printing substrate. A printing system is also provided which includes a printing and drying head for applying at least one ink to a printing substrate and for subsequently drying it. The printing system further includes means for moving the printing head with respect to the printing substrate.
Abstract: A duplex printing system and a printing method which enables printing of the second side of substrate in any desired order is provided. The printing system includes a printing unit, a reader and a processing unit. In the first pass, the printing unit receives a digital representation of a first image and at least one machine readable code and prints the first image and the machine readable code on a first side of a printing substrate. In the second pass, the reader identifies the printed machine readable code, preferably a bar-code, and provides it to the processing unit. The processing unit provides the digital representation of a second image associated with the machine readable code to the printing unit for printing a second image on a second side of the printing substrate, preferably, but not necessarily, in an orientation which is generally similar to the orientation of the printed first image and in registration therebetween.
Abstract: An apparatus for printing large graphics, particularly in colors, comprises at least a printing station, means for supporting a print substrate in continuous sheet form and for imparting thereto an intermittent, incremental, longitudinal feed motion, whereby intermittently to feed it in front of the printing station, means for imparting to the printing station an alternating, transversal, scanning motion relative to the print substrate, means for synchronizing said alternating, scanning and said incremental, feed motions, and means for controlling said printing station to deposit ink dots on the surface of said material in such a way as to produce the desired graphic patterns.
