Abstract: A farming feed for fish in freshwater, wherein, in addition to the content of starch as an ordinary binder, there has been added to the feed up to 25 g per kg of constituent feed ingredients of a faecal binder of a non-starch type, and methods of making and using the same. The feed may be of a pressed or extruded type.

Abstract: Composition for treatment of mucus on fish gills for a therapeutic or a prophylactic treatment of an amoebic gill disease in fish, where the composition comprises an extruded fish feed supplemented with arginine; said fish feed comprising protein, binder, fat, vitamins and minerals; and a total arginine content of the fish feed is at least 3.0% (wt/wt) of a total feed weight.

Abstract: Extruded, formulated, complete feed for aquatic species, said formulated, complete feed comprising: at least one non-hydrolysed protein source; at least one fat source; fibers inherent in at least one raw material; optionally at least one carbohydrate containing source; a vitamin additive; a mineral additive; water; a binder comprising at least partly an edible, starch containing, tuberous-originating thickening agent; a hydrolysed plant protein source; and a plasticizer, and said formulated, complete feed comprises a moisture content from about 12.5% to about 25% (w/w) of the complete feed. A method for production of the feed is disclosed as well.

Abstract: This disclosure pertains to a calcium binder for use in improving perinatal survival in the offspring of a sow, and in reducing or preventing stillbirth of piglets. This disclosure also pertains to compositions comprising a calcium binder, particularly in combination with a chloride salt to supplement a diet of an animal, in particular, a pregnant animal.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to methods carried out during and/or after the weaning period for: 1) for decreasing weaning stress in a bovine calf, 2) for increasing body weight and/or for increasing somatic growth of a bovine calf, 3) for increasing solid feed intake of a bovine calf, 4) for maturing the rumen of a bovine calf, and 5) for improving the gut health and/or the gastrointestinal function of a bovine calf.
