Abstract: Compositions are disclosed herein comprising a graft copolymer having (i) a backbone comprising dextran with a molecular weight of at least about 100000 Daltons, and poly alpha-1,3-glucan side chains comprising at least about 95% alpha-1,3-glucosidic linkages. Further disclosed are reactions for producing such graft copolymers, as well as their use in absorbent materials.
Abstract: Compositions are disclosed herein comprising a graft copolymer that comprises: (i) a backbone comprising dextran that has been modified with about 1%-25% alpha-1,2 branches, and (ii) one or more alpha-1,3-glucan side chains comprising at least about 50% alpha-1,3 glycosidic linkages. Further disclosed are reactions for producing such graft copolymers, as well as their use in derivatives, films and various other applications.

Abstract: Described herein are polyamide compositions comprising poly alpha-1,3-glucan in combination with a compatibilizer and processes for preparing such compositions. Such polyamide compositions exhibit improved elongation at break compared to polyamide compositions which lack a compatibilizer. These polyamide compositions exhibit an elongation at break of at least 9 percent when measured according to ASTM D638 after exposure to water at 120° C. at 2 atm pressure for 192 hours.
Abstract: Nonwoven webs comprising a water insoluble ?-(1,3?glucan) polymer and methods of forming the nonwoven webs are disclosed. The water insoluble ?-(1,3?glucan) polymer comprises 90% or greater ?-1,3-glycosidic linkages, less than 1% by weight of ?-1,3,6-glycosidic branch points, a number average degree of polymerization in the range of from 55 to 10,000, and a ratio of apparent DPw to true DPw in the range of from 2 to 10. The nonwoven webs can be used for personal hygiene wipes, filtration media, apparel, or other uses.
