Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method and to a device of servicing a channel change request in a digital network with at least a client and a server. The method comprising transmitting a multimedia stream using a multicast stream and a unicast stream, wherein a transcoder reorganizes the audio and video packets of the elementary stream of the multimedia stream on a time base, such that the audio and video packets related to the same frame are progressively sent adjacent to each other, on time base, in the serialized transport stream of the multicast stream.
