  • Patent number: 5782241
Abstract: A sensor device intended to be implemented at the vicinity or inside a nuclear magnetic resonance apparatus, and more particularly on a patient inside the canal of the magnet of a magnetic resonance imager (MRI). The device includes at least two non-metal electrodes intended to be applied to the skin of a patient, and an electro-optical conversion, amplification and filtering module for the electric signals received from the heart by the electrodes. The module is arranged in a shielded casing forming a Faraday cage, and optically connected to a display and/or monitoring apparatus. A support body made of non-magnetic material carries the electrode and the shielded casing containing the module.

  • Patent number: 5713927
Abstract: Defibrillating device equipped with a plurality of connector/electrodes assemblies of different types. Defibrillating device equipped with a plurality of connector/electrodes assemblies of different types, having each at least a connector cable and adapted to be plugged in, in a removable and interchangeable manner, to the casing of the device at a single connection site equipped with a fixed complimentary connector, all of the control (13, 13') and, preferably, adjustment devices (17) of the functioning of the defibrillating device (1) being mounted on the connector (8)/electrodes (9, 9') assemblies, each type of which is intended for a class of authorized user and/or specific application(s), the casing (2) of the defibrillating device (1) having only indicator and/or display devices (2'), and preferably, no control or adjustment device.

  • Patent number: 5691641
Abstract: A detector device delivering a signal representative of the respiration of patient, adapted to be used in a charged and sensitive electromagnetic environment. The device is principally constituted by at least two non-metallic electrodes (1) and by a unit for the processing of electrical signals emitted by the heart, comprising a first module (5) for acquiring and shaping cardiac electric signals, a second module (6) for extraction of the respiratory signal, and a third module (7) for electro-optical conversion of this latter, the modules being disposed in a shielded casing (8) forming a Faraday cage and, finally, by an optical connection (9) connecting the casing (8) to at least one other apparatus or device.

  • Patent number: 4580191
Abstract: A discharge capacitor having an energy density of at least 0.4 J/cm.sup.3, perferably for defibrillators, comprising at least one plastic dielectric foil and two electrically conductive armatures (4) separated by the plastic foil is rolled up and enclosed in a housing (60) and has an operating voltage in the range of 600 V to 6000 V and an electric energy accumulation capacity of 10 J to 500 J. Each armature (4) coacts with at least one of the plastic foils (6, 7, 86, 87, 88). Each armature is formed by a metallization (4) and is applied to a paper foil (5) impregnated with a liquid dielectric to provide a regenerating capacity. The impregnated foil is superimposed upon one of the plastic foils so that the capacitor takes the form of a regenerating (self-curing) capacitor.
