Abstract: A folding insert for forming a jacket to be used for a device to form a envelope-shape jacket for a magnetic cartridge. The folding insert is provided with protrusions and grooves along both side edges thereof, whereby flaps of the jacket material can be bent more than 180.degree. by a folding bar along the protrusions of the folding insert.

Abstract: A composite machine tool for metal working, provided with a pair of vertical columns. On the front and rear sides of the vertical columns, there are provided a vertical lathe and a milling machine, respectively, able to be driven and operated independently of each other. Machining by these machine tools is effected on a workpiece rested on a pallet. A pallet transfer apparatus for conveying a succession of pallets with workpieces is provided between the vertical lathe and the milling machine and between the vertical columns. When each turning operation in the vertical lathe is finished, the corresponding pallet with the workpiece rested thereon is immediately conveyed into the milling machine by the pallet transfer apparatus. The composite machine tool is particularly useful in reducing the time for conveying comparatively heavy workpieces.

Abstract: An automatic tool change machine tool having a vertical column on which a tool stock receiving therein a vertically movable tool bar is mounted. The tool bar is provided with a toolholder receiving means at the lowermost end for the attachment of a toolholder having a cutting tool. The machine tool further has a toolholder magazine storing a plurality of toolholders. The magazine is turned around the vertical column so that one of the toolholders is indexed to a predetermined position where toolholders are attached to and detached from the tool bar in one reciprocal vertical movement of the tool bar.
