Abstract: Provided are primer formulations for solvent cement bonding comprising cyclopentanone and, optionally, at least one additional organic solvent. The primer formulations are effective for solvent cement bonding plastic components together, wherein the plastic components may include ABS, PVC, or CPVC pipes and/or fittings.
Abstract: A drain assembly includes a drain body, barrel, plug, and gasket. The drain body has an interior surface defining a channel along an axis and having interior threads thereon. The barrel has a central body having an upper end, with a flange extending radially outward therefrom and defining a landing surface. The central body has opposed exterior and interior barrel surfaces having exterior and interior threads, respectively. The interior barrel surface defines a channel alignable with the axis. The exterior threads are engageable with the drain body interior threads for axially adjusting the barrel relative to the drain body. The plug has a top wall and an outer body extending axially downward therefrom to a stop surface. A portion of the outer body extends axially below the stop surface and has external threads engageable with the barrel interior threads. The gasket is sealingly receivable between the stop and landing surfaces.
Abstract: A drain assembly comprises a drain pan, a trim member, and a drain cover. The drain pan has a base and a pan sidewall, and the trim member has a trim sidewall. The pan sidewall, at least a portion of the upper surface of the base, and the trim sidewall define a drain channel therebetween. The drain cover defines a plurality of apertures and is positionable above the drain pan. The trim member is configured to transition between a first position and a second position. In the first position of the trim member, the drain channel has a first width that extends in a transverse direction. In the second position of the trim member, the drain channel has a second width that extends in the transverse direction. The first width is different than the second width.
Abstract: A roof flashing having a base and a flexible collar operatively connected thereto is configured to prevent water infiltration around an exhaust pipe extending through a roof. The base includes a flat plate having a connecting mechanism extending upwardly from the plate. The collar includes either a fixed-diameter opening or a multi-diameter opening thereto, wherein the opening is configured to receive and seal against a pipe extending from the roof to which the roof flashing is attached. The collar is fixedly attached to the connecting mechanism of the base.
Abstract: A sewer manhole cover includes a frame having an access aperture and a cover for covering the access aperture. A primary seal is generated when the cover is placed on the frame either by way of contact between the frame and cover or by way of a gasket received within a groove formed into one of the frame or cover, wherein the gasket is compressed between the frame and cover. A method is provided for generating a secondary seal between the frame and cover by applying an amount of a viscous compound to a circumferential surface of the frame or cover, wherein the secondary seal is formed when the cover compresses the compound when the cover is received within the frame.
Abstract: A system of pipe insulating sleeves includes a series of elastomeric foam insulating sleeves that are capable of opening up to, and beyond, 180 degrees, to accommodate and capture an undersink pipe. The disclosed system may include a number of different sleeves that are capable of coupling to one another at respective couplers so as to form the system. The sleeves may include fastening mechanisms to retain the sleeves in the closed configuration while capturing the pipe, so as to create a smooth, streamlined appearance that is aesthetically pleasing. Also disclosed is a method of installing the sleeves. The sleeves are made of an elastomeric foam material that has heat insulating properties, and which may also have antibacterial and antimicrobial properties that make it particularly advantageous for use in undersink pipe insulating.

Abstract: A system of modular boxes as shown and described can be interconnected directly to one another via connectors that are integrally molded with the sidewalls of the boxes. The connectors of the boxes may include fastener receiving apertures for receiving a stud-mounting fastener therethrough. The connectors are thin and flexible, such that insertion and forcible tightening of a fastener through the aperture will cause a compressive force to be exerted between the interconnected boxes to maintain their spatial relationship and to maintain their interconnection. A further feature of the modular boxes of the system are anti-rotation members and receivers that are integrally molded to the side walls of the boxes. The anti-rotation members and receivers interact with one another at the point of connection between the boxes to prevent the boxes from flexing, rotating, or otherwise moving with respect to one another post-installation.
Abstract: Provided are solvent cement formulations comprising some or all of tetrahydrofuran, cyclohexanone, methyl ethyl ketone, acetone, a thermoplastic resin, silica, and, a solvent soluble acrylic copolymer associative thickener. The disclosed formulations contain a reduced complement of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) relative to conventional cement formulations, yet are capable of meeting the requirements for regular-, medium-, and heavy-duty applications. The use of specialized associative thickener components confers a required degree of viscosity while enabling a reduction in the concentration of VOCs, such as tetrahydrofuran.
