Patent number: 12129405Abstract: Provided are solvent cement formulations comprising some or all of tetrahydrofuran, cyclohexanone, methyl ethyl ketone, acetone, a thermoplastic resin, silica, and, a solvent soluble acrylic copolymer associative thickener. The disclosed formulations contain a reduced complement of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) relative to conventional cement formulations, yet are capable of meeting the requirements for regular-, medium-, and heavy-duty applications. The use of specialized associative thickener components confers a required degree of viscosity while enabling a reduction in the concentration of VOCs, such as tetrahydrofuran.Type: GrantFiled: May 1, 2023Date of Patent: October 29, 2024Assignee: Oatey Co.Inventors: Amrit Parhar, Willie Perez

Patent number: 12071754Abstract: A bath waste and overflow drain system of the present disclosure may comprise both drain and overflow assemblies. The drain assembly generally includes a drain elbow, drain gasket, drain spud, drain trim, and drain stopper. The drain trim may possess weep channels that urge stagnated water from a periphery of the drain spud and into the drain. The overflow assembly generally includes an overflow elbow, overflow gasket, retaining nut, and overflow faceplate. The overflow faceplate may have bayonet channels that engage with a protrusion of the overflow elbow so as to accommodate variances in tub design when effecting an installation. The system according to an embodiment may also comprise test plugs of the overflow and drain varieties which are, together, operable to permit pressure-related tests of the system prior to completing an installation. The overflow and drain test plugs are simple to manipulate and install/remove with quick-engaging, complementary locking features.Type: GrantFiled: May 7, 2021Date of Patent: August 27, 2024Assignee: Oatey Co.Inventors: Shawn Heipp, Kenneth Brown, Douglas Buchan, Joshua Funk, Aaron Lorkowski, Kai Zhang

Patent number: 12072033Abstract: Disclosed herein is a valve assembly. The valve assembly includes a valve body, a cartridge, a hot side check stop, and a cold side check stop. The valve body has a cartridge receiving area, a first check stop receiving area, and a second check stop receiving area. The cartridge is located in the cartridge receiving area. The hot side check stop is located in the first check stop receiving area when the valve assembly is in a first configuration. The cold side check stop is located in the second check stop receiving area when the valve assembly is in the first configuration. When the valve assembly is in a second configuration, the hot side check stop is located in the second check stop receiving area and the cold side check stop is located in the first check stop receiving area.Type: GrantFiled: December 3, 2021Date of Patent: August 27, 2024Assignee: Oatey Co.Inventors: Karel Lysy, Gerald Wolford, Marc Fortin

Patent number: 12006678Abstract: A drain assembly is installed into the floor of a shower stall or in the floor of a room to allow water or fluids to be drained. The drain assembly is attached to a drain pipe to allow water to drain from the drain assembly. The drain assembly includes a base that receives a tray, wherein the tray is spaced apart from the base by way of at least one venting clip. The venting clip includes a venting channel configured to provide a fluid pathway that extends from a position adjacent to a central opening that is in fluid communication with the drain pipe to the ambient air about the drain assembly. The venting channel is configured to allow air to escape from the drain pipe to normalize the pressure between the drain pipe and the ambient air therewithin to prevent the backup of water within the drain.Type: GrantFiled: April 22, 2022Date of Patent: June 11, 2024Assignee: Oatey Co.Inventor: Alexander L Davis

Patent number: 11946241Abstract: A drain assembly includes a drain body, barrel, plug, and gasket. The drain body has an interior surface defining a channel along an axis and having interior threads thereon. The barrel has a central body having an upper end, with a flange extending radially outward therefrom and defining a landing surface. The central body has opposed exterior and interior barrel surfaces having exterior and interior threads, respectively. The interior barrel surface defines a channel alignable with the axis. The exterior threads are engageable with the drain body interior threads for axially adjusting the barrel relative to the drain body. The plug has a top wall and an outer body extending axially downward therefrom to a stop surface. A portion of the outer body extends axially below the stop surface and has external threads engageable with the barrel interior threads. The gasket is sealingly receivable between the stop and landing surfaces.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 2022Date of Patent: April 2, 2024Assignee: Oatey Co.Inventors: Aaron Lorkowski, Jeffrey Zhang

Patent number: 11891808Abstract: A roof flashing having a base and a flexible collar operatively connected thereto is configured to prevent water infiltration around an exhaust pipe extending through a roof. The base includes a flat plate having a connecting mechanism extending upwardly from the plate. The collar includes either a fixed-diameter opening or a multi-diameter opening thereto, wherein the opening is configured to receive and seal against a pipe extending from the roof to which the roof flashing is attached. The collar is fixedly attached to the connecting mechanism of the base.Type: GrantFiled: January 19, 2022Date of Patent: February 6, 2024Assignee: Oatey Co.Inventors: Jeffrey Zhang, Robert F Beesley

Patent number: 11885094Abstract: A sewer manhole cover includes a frame having an access aperture and a cover for covering the access aperture. A primary seal is generated when the cover is placed on the frame either by way of contact between the frame and cover or by way of a gasket received within a groove formed into one of the frame or cover, wherein the gasket is compressed between the frame and cover. A method is provided for generating a secondary seal between the frame and cover by applying an amount of a viscous compound to a circumferential surface of the frame or cover, wherein the secondary seal is formed when the cover compresses the compound when the cover is received within the frame.Type: GrantFiled: November 24, 2020Date of Patent: January 30, 2024Assignee: Oatey Co.Inventor: Blake R Tresan

Patent number: 11746946Abstract: A system of pipe insulating sleeves includes a series of elastomeric foam insulating sleeves that are capable of opening up to, and beyond, 180 degrees, to accommodate and capture an undersink pipe. The disclosed system may include a number of different sleeves that are capable of coupling to one another at respective couplers so as to form the system. The sleeves may include fastening mechanisms to retain the sleeves in the closed configuration while capturing the pipe, so as to create a smooth, streamlined appearance that is aesthetically pleasing. Also disclosed is a method of installing the sleeves. The sleeves are made of an elastomeric foam material that has heat insulating properties, and which may also have antibacterial and antimicrobial properties that make it particularly advantageous for use in undersink pipe insulating.Type: GrantFiled: May 3, 2019Date of Patent: September 5, 2023Assignee: Oatey Co.Inventors: Aaron Lorkowski, Kai Zhang, Willie Perez
