  • Patent number: 10885283
Abstract: Systems and methods of natural language processing in an environment with no existing corpus are disclosed. The method includes defining an input grammar specific to a chosen domain, the input grammar having a domain specific knowledge and general grammatical knowledge. Groups of tokens are identified within the input grammar having syntactic and semantic equivalence. The identified groups are assembled into hypernyms, wherein the hypernyms include a semantic output for each token in the hypernyms. A list of fields is then combined with the hypernyms for combination with the hypernyms. A corpus of possible combinations of hypernyms and fields is created. A data structure mapping each possible combination to a partial semantic output is generated and the data structure is saved for use in later processing.

  • Patent number: 10860874
Abstract: The present teaching relates to method, system, medium, and implementations for authenticating a user. An authentication session is first initiated to authenticate, via iris, a person claiming to be an authorized user, in which a first set of signals is randomly generated for controlling light strobing to be applied to the iris of the person for detecting liveness of the iris. A second set of signals is accordingly generated for controlling iris picture capturing synchronized with the light strobing. The light strobing is applied to the person via strobes generated based on the first set of signals and pictures of the iris of the person are acquired, based on the second set of signals, that are synchronized with the light strobing. Whether the person is live is then determined based on the synchronized pictures acquired when the light strobing is applied.

  • Patent number: 10839006
Abstract: An approach for performing mobile visual search uses deep variant coding of images to reduce the amount of data transmitted from mobile devices to a search server and to provide more efficient indexing and searching on the search server. The amount of data used to represent an image varies depending upon the content of the image and is less than conventional fixed bit length hashing approaches. Denser regions of a feature space are represented by more encoding bits and sparser regions of the feature space are represented by fewer encoding bits, so that the overall number of encoding bits for an image feature is reduced. The approach generally involves determining a set of hash functions that provide deep hashing with more evenly-distributed hash buckets. One or more additional hash functions may be selectively generated for particular hash buckets that contain more than a specified number of images.
