Abstract: The invention provides enhancements for the use of favorites during a Web browsing session. A first enhancement identifies when a user is adding a favorite to his favorites list and auto-suggests a category under which the favorite could be stored. A second enhancement allows a user to review his favorites list and see a summary of feed content (RSS or other standard) on each feed enabled page on his favorites list, without requiring the user to link to the page in question. A third enhancement allows the user to view an manipulate the feed in an independent display window.

Abstract: A method includes discovering live video feeds. The discovered live feeds are presented on a website. The viewing of one or more live video feeds and interaction with entities that are generating the live video feeds is enabled.

Abstract: Processes are disclosed for fingerprinting and identifying client applications based on the analysis of client requests. In an HTTP-based embodiment, a fingerprint is constructed based on the presence and order of HTTP headers included in a request from a client application or device. This fingerprint may then be compared to known fingerprints associated with particular client applications to identify the particular client application and/or to assess whether the client application is malicious. The results of this analysis may, for example, be used to determine how to respond to the current request and/or subsequent requests.

Abstract: Many headset devices, such as virtual reality helmets, present visuals that respond to the user's motion, such that a rotation of the user's head causes the visual to be re-rendered from a correspondingly rotated perspective. The lag between the user's motion and the updated rendering from the new perspective may be perceivable even at high framerates, and may induce unpleasant feelings such as vertigo. Instead, headset devices may respond to detected motion by identifying a displacement of the physical location of the visual that causes it to maintain a physical position relative to a stationary reference point. The display is operatively coupled with a displacer, such as actuators or a projection adjustment, that are engaged to displace the display according to the identified displacement and maintain a physical location of the visual relative to the stationary reference point (e.g., until the visual is re-rendered from the updated perspective).

Abstract: A method for dynamically allocating upload bandwidth to consumer nodes by a resource node that are communicatively connected by a channel-swarm in a peer-to-peer network. The method comprises periodically computing a dynamic quota value to determine a number of acceptable connections between the resource node and one or more of the consumer nodes connected by the channel-swarm; and allocating an available upload bandwidth to the one or more of the consumer nodes in the channel-swarm based on the computed dynamic quota value.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for automatic selection of canonical digital images from a large corpus of digital images, such as the corpus of digital images available on the web, for an entity, such as and without limitation a person, a point of interest, object, etc. The automated, unsupervised approach for selecting a diverse set of high quality, canonical digital images, is well suited for processing a large corpus of digital images. A set of canonical digital images identified for an entity can be retrieved in response to a digital image request for digital images depicting the entity.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for improving interactions with and between computers in content searching, generating, hosting and/or providing systems supported by or configured with personal computing devices, servers and/or platforms. The disclosure provides a computerized framework for automatically generating chatbot responses to produce domain-specific responses that mimic native styles unique to particular domains. The disclosed systems and methods construct domain-specific word-graphs based on account activity from specific domains and generate word-patterns. New words obtained from the patterns in the graph are introduced to transform the regular response. The graph is then pruned using data-driven thresholds in order to avoid spurious transformations, and paragraph vectors are also utilized to assign relevance scores to generated patterns such that only the patterns that are contextually similar to the original response (generic/regular response) are used.

Abstract: When a server receives a request for an information payload from a remote device, the server may determine the device's type and identify an optionally-installable application that can be used to access the information payload on devices of that type. When the optionally-installable application is not installed on the remote device, the server may store a identifier for the remote device and send the device a redirection message via which the device can obtain and install the application. Subsequently, when the server receives an installation indication from the application executing on a remote device, the server may identify the device as having recently been redirected to install the application and store or update a record indicating that an application-installation event occurred.

Abstract: A method for organizing a message thread containing one or more messages. A root message and reply groupings are identified, each reply grouping depending from the root message. Each reply grouping has one or more child reply messages depending from a common parent message. The child reply messages within each reply grouping are ordered in chronological order based on the time of each of the one or more child reply messages was received or sent. The reply groupings are hierarchically ordering based on a relationship between the reply grouping and its parent message. A single display allows a user to view the message thread and the content of all of the messages in accordance with the hierarchical ordering.

Abstract: Users may have a variety of photos, but lack a mechanism to organize the photos. For example, a user may desire to access a photo of a child in front of a national monument, but may be unable to locate the photo amongst the photos. Accordingly, a photo query may be generated utilizing a photo query interface populated with a face query attribute (e.g., a proxy icon, a photo of a face, etc.), a face position attribute (e.g., a position of the face query attribute), and/or a location query attribute (e.g., a background of a photo, such as a forest, a monument, etc.) using drag and drop functionality and/or any other query construction functionality. One or more photos having attributes corresponding to the photo query may be identified and provided to the user.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for protecting user privacy in, for example, online advertising environments. The method includes receiving data related to a user in a first communication session between a host server and a client device, and generating a user profile associated with the user. The method further may include encrypting the user profile to produce encrypted user profile data and generating a decryption key for decrypting the encrypted user profile data. Thereafter, either the decryption key or a portion of the encrypted user profile data may be transmitted to the client device and then deleted from host server before ending the first communication session. The method further may include establishing a second communication session between the host server and the client device and retrieving the transmitted content. Then targeted advertising may be provided by decrypting the encrypted user profile data.

A set of queries may be evaluated to identify query information for the queries within the set of queries. The queries may be evaluated as query pairs to determine common goal probabilities (e.g., likelihood two queries correspond to a particular goal, such as to identify vacation planning information) for the query pairs. Responsive to the common goal probabilities for the query pairs exceeding a goal probability threshold, the query pairs may be grouped into goal clusters. The goal clusters may be evaluated as goal cluster pairs to determine common mission probabilities. Responsive to the common mission probabilities for the goal cluster pairs exceeding a mission probability threshold, the goal clusters may be grouped into mission clusters. The mission clusters and the goal clusters may be utilized to generate a query-goal-mission structure.
