The housing can be connected to a vacuum pump in order to generate vacuum within the housing and a vacuum prevails within the housing, wherein at least one housing side wall of the housing is flexible enough that the housing side wall is tensioned together with the cell block by the vacuum acting within the housing. A vehicle, in particular an aircraft, may be electrified, at least in part, by such a battery system.
