  • Patent number: 10914552
Abstract: Implementations of a flashlight mount are provided. The flashlight mount is configured to position a flashlight on a handguard of a firearm and includes a trigger mechanism configured to actuate a push-button tailcap switch of the flashlight. In a preferred implementation, a flashlight mount comprises: a base that can be secured to a handguard of a firearm; a flashlight mounting ring configured to releasably hold a flashlight; and a trigger mechanism, the trigger mechanism comprises a bifurcated trigger configured to actuate a push-button tailcap switch of the flashlight when pressed forward. In some implementations, the bifurcated trigger comprises two contact members that extend upwardly and outwardly from a body thereof, thereby positioning each contact member on an opposite side of the handguard. In this way, the trigger mechanism of the flashlight mount is configured to facilitate ambidextrous operation of the flashlight.

  • Patent number: 10724825
Abstract: Implementations of a handguard system for firearms is provided. The handguard system is configured for use with a rifle (e.g., an AK-type rifle) and to support rail mounted firearm accessories. In some implementations, the handguard system comprises a two-part barrel clamp configured to be secured on a rifle barrel, a gas tube configured to be secured to the top portion of the two-part barrel clamp, and a handguard configured to be removably secured to the two-part barrel clamp. The two-part barrel clamp comprises a top portion and a bottom portion that can be secured together and thereby cooperatively engage with the outer surface of a firearm barrel. The handguard may be configured so that modular sections of MIL-STD-1913 mounting rail can be attached to various locations on the handguard as needed to provide a mounting structure for MIL-STD-1913 rail mounted firearm accessories.

Abstract: Implementations of a handguard system for firearms is provided. The handguard system is configured for use with a rifle (e.g., an AK-type rifle) and to support rail mounted firearm accessories. In some implementations, the handguard system comprises a rear sight block configured to fit about the barrel of a rifle and a handguard that can be removably secured to the rear sight block without making contact with the barrel (i.e. the handguard system is free-floating). In other implementations, the handguard system comprises a rear sight block and a handguard that can be removably secured together and thereby form a clamp that secures the handguard system to the barrel of a rifle. The handguard may be configured so that modular sections of MIL-STD-1913 mounting rail can be attached to various locations on the handguard as needed to provide a mounting structure for MIL-STD-1913 rail mounted firearm accessories.

  • Patent number: 9696118
Abstract: Implementations of a rear sight block for AK-type rifles are provided. In some implementations, the rear sight block may be drop-in-compatible with most AK-type rifles and performs several functions (e.g., providing a guide hole for the piston of an AK-type rifles operating system) associated with prior art rear sight blocks found on AK-type rifles. In some implementations, the rear sight block disclosed herein comprises an optic mounting interface having an integral rear sight notch therein, and at least one accessory mounting interface. In some implementations, the optic mounting interface places an optical gun sight secured thereto in line with the iron sights of the host AK-type rifle. In some implementations, the accessory mounting interface may be used to position a flashlight, laser, and/or other firearm accessory on the left (or right) side of the rear sight block.
