Abstract: A data display system and method that provides for creation of multidimensional data displays in which the dimensions have one or more dimension elements and the display has display cells at dimension element intersections. Provisions are made for allowing rearrangement of display dimensions, reordering of display elements, and sorting within any dimension along with the maintenance of topological formulas during insertions, deletions, sorting and rearrangements. Further included is provision for support of both symmetrical and asymmetrical multidimensional spreadsheets.

Abstract: A system and method for converting inoperative sentence elements into operative elements in which a set of grammar rules for substituting sentence elements with different elements is established. A sequential comparison between each grammar rule and the sentence elements is then accomplished to find a match between a grammar rule and one or more contiguous sentence elements. A substitution of the matched element for the different elements from the grammar rule is then accomplished. Such sequential comparison and substitution is continued for the entire series of sentence elements to fully convert the sentence to operative elements.

Abstract: An automatic data reference system and method responds to a query for a data item by determining whether a match can be found between the query dimensions and the dimensions of one of a number of data tables stored in the database for queries which constitute an exact match for an existing data table, as well as those queries which are underdefined, overdefined or require relational joining or linking of two or more data tables.
