  • Patent number: 4236680
Abstract: A slip-lock type take-up reel for roll film has drive and driven flanges provided with axial cores that allow limited relative rotary movement of the flanges between a slip position where the cores are radially spaced to receive or release a film end and a lock position where the film end is gripped in interference fit between the cores.

  • Patent number: 4131273
Abstract: An apparatus for feeding record cards to and from a utilization station in a record card utilization machine comprises a support housing for a card origination hopper and a card collection hopper, which is mounted below the origination hopper. A transfer carriage is mounted for reciprocal, pivoted movement from a first position where it receives a card from the origination hopper, to a second position at the utilization station where the card is utilized, and back to the same first position where it returns the card to the collection hopper. A card feeding and returning mechanism is associated with the hoppers to feed cards to and remove cards from the carriage at different times in the sequence of operation of the apparatus, but nevetheless with the carriage at the same first position in its path of reciprocal, pivoted travel.

  • Patent number: 4072410
Abstract: A reader-printer incorporates a fiche film projecting system and a roll film projecting system in a compact module compatible with existing main frame designs for reader-printers. Both projection systems align with a common optical axis when in operative position. Simple control means operate through a lost-motion linkage to switch a fiche lamp and condensing lens assembly and a roll beam reflecting mirror assembly in ganged relation to locate each assembly in an out-of-the-way position when the other assembly is in operative position, with the lost-motion linkage also accommodating relative vertical adjustment between these assemblies.Novel mountings permit easy total removal and replacement of the fiche beam projection lens and selective shifting of the fiche beam condenser lens to an out-of-the-way position under the control of an apertured X-Y carrier for providing enlarged openings for the wider beam presented at these locations in the roll projection mode.

  • Patent number: 4062533
Abstract: Photocopy machine having a feed module for successively feeding individual original documents from a stack thereof. Cooperating portions of the feed module and of the photocopying machine form a straight line original document feed path having an entryway that is accessible for conventional insertion of original documents. The feed module includes apparatus for successively feeding original documents from a stack along a direction reversing path that leads to the above entryway of the straight line feed path. The feed module can be pivoted to afford access to the straight line original document path and to permit copying of original documents which cannot be sheet fed. The feed module includes an original document separating arrangement wherein a feed tire and flanking retarder bars are cooperatively disposed so as to obviate need for any adjustment of the arrangement to afford proper feeding of documents of variable thickness.
