Abstract: In a solution for accessing digital media files, in which each file is associated with a tag characterizing information in the file, a data storage stores the media files. An input interface receives commands and forwards them to a data processor. An output interface presents graphical representations of the media files on a user comprehensible format. The data processor causes the output interface to present an adjusted graphical representation of the media files, organizes the media files according to a hierarchical and layered structure, and causes the output interface to present information reflecting the structure. A bottom layer comprises a graphic representation of an individual file. A top layer contains a two-dimensional layout of at least two category segments that are each associated with one or more of the media files.
