Abstract: A method of predicting seizure in a subject that has had an intracerebral hemorrhage, comprising: measuring at least one of miRNA listed in Tables 1A, 1B, 1C and 6-8 in a sample obtained from a subject, wherein the at least one of miRNA comprises at least one of hsa-miR-4325, hsa-miR-181a-5p, hsa-miR-1180-3p, and miR-4317 wherein down regulation of hsa-miR-4325 or hsa-miR-4317 N relative to a control indicates the subject will exhibit seizures and wherein upregulation of hsa-miR-181a-5p and hsa-miR-1180-3p, C relative to a control indicates the subject will exhibit seizures.
Abstract: Disclosed are methods of, and assay and kits for, detecting and diagnosing methods of detecting, diagnosing, vulnerable carotid artery disease capable of becoming acutely symptomatic using the levels of Resolvin D1 (RvD1), docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), and arachidonic acid (AA). Also disclosed are methods of treating carotid artery disease and methods of identifying agents for use in the treatment of carotid artery disease.
