Abstract: A method and apparatus for determining the resistance of the coils and commutator connections in an armature of an electric motor wherein a current is generated between a first commutator segment and a commutator segment located at least three segments beyond said first segment, a first voltage is measured across the first commutator segment and an adjacent second commutator segment, a second voltage is measured across the second commutator segment and an adjacent third commutator segment, and a third voltage is measured across a pair of commutator segments which are adjacent to the first commutator segment. After the three voltages are measured, the current is disconnected, and a voltage is generated across two commutator segments spaced at least three segments beyond the first segment. The generated voltage is adjusted so that the voltage measured across the second and third commutator segments equals the previous measurement, and the voltages are remeasured.
Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for adjusting a pallet for supporting workpieces, the pallet having a pair of spaced workpiece support blocks, one of which is rotatable and presents a plurality of support surfaces. Each of the support surfaces having a different depth such that by rotation of the rotatable block with respect to the other, workpieces of differing lengths can be adjustably supported on the pallet between the blocks.
Abstract: A stator coil winding machine for winding a wire around a neck portion of each pole. A spindle through which the wire is inserted is reciprocated in an axial direction thereof. A nozzle is provided at one end of the spindle, and the nozzle is inserted through a slot of a stator core by the axial reciprocation of the spindle. The spindle is reciprocated axially and is reciprocatively rotated at a predetermined angle at opposite ends of the axial reciprocation. Thus, the wire is supplied from the nozzle and is wound around the neck portion. The nozzle is pivotally mounted on the spindle so as to be tiltable in the axial direction of the spindle. In another embodiment, a nozzle swinging device is provided to tilt the nozzle in a direction counter to an advancing direction of the spindle.
