Publication number: 20230144785Abstract: Disclosed is a downhole tool and method of use. The tool has a sleeve assembly slideable within the tool body under the action of a hydraulic pressure differential. The sleeve assembly has a control collar portion and a first hydraulic reservoir is defined between a first end of the control collar portion and the body, and a second hydraulic reservoir is defined between a second end of the control collar portion and the body. A bleed conduit extending between the first and second hydraulic reservoirs and an electromechanical control valve across the bleed conduit is used to regulate fluid flow along the bleed conduit. The electromechanical control valve may communicate with sensors, by which control systems are transmitted to the control valve.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 3, 2020Publication date: May 11, 2023Applicant: Odfjell Partners Invest LtdInventor: Jonas Solem

Patent number: 11174707Abstract: A downhole cleaning apparatus (10) comprising a tubular body (12). The tubular body (12) comprises comprising a plurality of openings (20) therethrough. Each opening (20) defines at least part of a helix extending longitudinally and circumferentially about the tubular body (12). The downhole cleaning apparatus (10) also includes a plurality of cleaning elements (22). Each cleaning element (22) is configured to extend through an opening (20) and to extend outwards from an outer surface of the tubular body (12). The cleaning elements (22) are distributed about the tubular body (12) and each cleaning element (22) defines at least part of a helix extending longitudinally and circumferentially about the tubular body. The openings (20) and the cleaning elements (22) are grouped to define a plurality of substantially continuous helical paths (18).Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 2019Date of Patent: November 16, 2021Assignee: Odfjell Partners Invest Ltd.Inventors: Nikolaos Tzallas, Simon Leiper

Patent number: 10605015Abstract: A duplex snubbing jack and method of snubbing pipe into a well bore which includes first and second gripping units that alternately and synchronously grip and release a length of pipe to be attached to a pipe string. The first and second gripping units are synchronously movable upward and downward toward and away from each other to push or pull the pipe through a BOP stack and into or out of a wellbore. Linear actuators are used to synchronously move the first and second gripping units. Guide rails are provided to laterally support the pipe as the pipe is pushed or pulled through the BOP stack into or out of the wellbore. The first and second gripping units are preferably slip-type spiders.Type: GrantFiled: September 22, 2017Date of Patent: March 31, 2020Assignee: ODFJELL PARTNERS INVEST LTD.Inventor: David L. Sipos

Publication number: 20160348473Abstract: A downhole milling tool (100) operable to remove unwanted debris from an interior wall of a pipeline, well casing or other tubular in which the tool (100) is deployable. The tool (100) comprises a hollow tool body (1, 11) mountable on a drill string and an annular element (8) mountable about an outside surface of the tool body (1). The annular element (8) houses at least one elongate milling blade (12). The at least one milling blade (12) is configured such that it always projects from an outside surface of the annular element (8) and includes an elongate cutting face (36). The annular element (8) is configured to be rotatably coupled to the tool body (1) in an active state and rotatably decoupled from the tool body (1) in an inactive state such that the annular element (8) and the tool body (1) are rotationally dependent when coupled and rotationally independent when decoupled.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 20, 2016Publication date: December 1, 2016Applicant: Odfjell Partners Invest LtdInventors: Simon Leiper, Raymond Cain
