Patent number: 9782626Abstract: A system for removably mounting tree steps and other equipment in tree stands. The system comprises a permanent universal bracket and a series of removable equipment mounts attachable to it. The bracket is attached to the tree by inserting a bolt through one or more apertures in the bracket. One or more cleats extends from the bracket into the tree to prevent the bracket from rotating around the bolt. A channel in the bracket is as adapted to receive one or more mated extensions that extend from each mount. The extensions are flexible and resilient such that they can be deformed to facilitate attaching and removing the mount from the bracket. In the preferred embodiment, the mount is a step having two extensions, each insertable into a mated channel on the bracket.Type: GrantFiled: January 7, 2015Date of Patent: October 10, 2017Assignee: Odin Hunting Products, Inc.Inventors: Timothy A Wakefield, Jr., Zachary L Dawson, Blake B Hoffman

Publication number: 20110260407Abstract: A bullet trap 1 with grid-like shaping including inclined plates 2. Each inclined plate is shaped with a downward bent edge 4 in the rear longitudinal side. The plates are angled downwards in such a way that a bullet that hits the underside of a plate slides along the surface of the plate before it continuous into the interior of the bullet trap, which decreases the kinetic power compared to previously known bullet traps. Kinetic energy in the bullet is absorbed by the inclined plate to a larger extent than when using previously known bullet traps.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 5, 2008Publication date: October 27, 2011Applicant: THE SMITH OF ODINInventor: Peter Norman

Patent number: 7414533Abstract: A system and method for optimally placing radio frequency identification (RFID) antennas. The system varies the placement of RFID tag and interrogator antennas with respect to each other and a stationary object or objects. A signal generator sends a known reference signal to the one or more RFID interrogator antennas. The signal is received by the one or more RFID tag antennas and is displayed upon an oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer or other multipurpose signal measuring device. By this method, the system finds the optimal placement of the antennas with respect to each other and the object or objects.Type: GrantFiled: November 3, 2006Date of Patent: August 19, 2008Assignee: Odin Technologies, Inc.Inventor: Patrick Joseph Sweeney, II

Patent number: 6725079Abstract: A dual pointing device to be used in cooperation with an imaging apparatus, a tracking system, and an object to be imaged. The dual pointing device provides a means for tracking a point on in image in both the image's frame of reference and Euclidean absolute coordinates. This is accomplished by having two tracking systems follow the dual pointing device. Since the two tracking systems follow the same physical device, and since one tracking system operates in the image coordinates while the other tracking system operates in the absolute coordinates, the device makes it possible to effect automatic transformations between the two systems. More specifically, in the preferred embodiment of the dual pointing device, which is intended for use with a magnetic resonance imager, the absolute tracking system is based on infra-red reflectors on the device that are tracked by an infrared transponder.Type: GrantFiled: June 20, 2001Date of Patent: April 20, 2004Assignee: Odin Medical Technologies, Ltd.Inventors: Yuval Zuk, Ehud Katznelson
