  • Patent number: 4920718
Abstract: The specification discloses a door assembly having a flush-mounted integral door light supported on a perimeter lip extending from the door. The door light includes inner and outer frames sandwiching a panel and the perimeter lip therebetween. The outer frame includes compressive weather seals against both the panel and the lip. The door rails and stiles each include an ear along one side thereof to provide both a tenon-and-mortise construction and the perimeter lip about the door opening.

  • Patent number: 4897975
Abstract: The specification discloses a door light including a frame incorporated structurally into the door and a glass removable from the frame. The frame is fabricated of coextruded members each having a coextruded seal of lower durometer. Removable glass retainers or glazing stops are snap-fitted within the frame to retain the glass against the seal. Preferably, the glass retainers are biased against the glass to improve the seal and to accommodate glasses having slight thickness variations.

  • Patent number: 4890438
Abstract: The specification discloses an improved insulated glass construction preventing relative slippage beween the hermetically sealed glass sheets. The construction conventionally includes a pair of glass sheets and a spacer frame positioned therebetween and sealed thereto. The spacer frame is recessed from the glass edges. An adhesive fills the recess preferably at discrete locations to bond the glass sheets together.

  • Patent number: 4890435
Abstract: A window assembly creating a multi-pane appearance of a single mounted glazing panel, includes a panel, a frame, a grille and retainer slides slidably mounted on the grille for securely but releasably attaching the grille to the frame. The frame and panel cooperate to define a gap therebetween which is adapted to releasably receive a portion of the retainer slide.

  • Patent number: 4884376
Abstract: The specification discloses a modular sun porch which can be easily and quickly assembled. The wall assembly includes a plurality of identical modular window panels whose lateral edges interfit in male/female relationship to provide weather seals therebetween. Modular door units, which have a width equal to one or more window panels, can be substituted for the window panels in the wall assembly and include frames which interfit with the male/female scheme. The base for the wall assembly is levelable and hides both the base tie-downs and the leveling mechanism. The roof includes rafters and purlins which slide-lock into position between beams and rafters, respectively. Roof panels rest on gaskets carried by the rafters and purlins, and retainers are secured to the rafters to retain the panels in position and to improve the weather seal.

  • Patent number: 4872498
Abstract: The specification discloses a door light providing improved drainage, improved sealing between sashes, and improved sealing between frame components. Brackets are mounted on the sill at discrete locations to hold the screen and the movable sash off the sill to provide drainage and eliminate capillary action which would otherwise draw moisture to the frame interior. The meeting rails include resiliently deflectable interlock flanges which engage and are biased against one another when the movable sash is closed to improve the seal therebetween. A frame trim piece interfits with the frame body and deflects a resiliently deformable flap integral with the frame body to effect a weather seal between the trim piece and frame body.

  • Patent number: 4796400
Abstract: The specification discloses an improved skylight construction having a foamable gasket providing a weather seal between the curb and dome. The gasket is applied to the curb and cured prior to mounting of the dome. Consequently, the gasket does not adhere to the dome upon dome removal, permitting the dome to be easily replaced or inverted on the curb for low-profile transportation and storage.

  • Patent number: 4021967
Abstract: A door light fastener for releasably mounting opposing sections of a door light frame in a door, wherein a plurality of pairs of opposed cylindrical bosses extend inwardly from each of the opposing door light sections, comprises a tubular spring clip that encircles and resiliently holds each pair of bosses together. Inclined barbs in the spring clips permit bosses to be inserted into the ends of the spring clips but inhibit removal of the bosses from the spring clips. A stop projection in each spring clip prevents the bosses from being inserted more than halfway through the spring clip.
