Patent number: 12682914Abstract: This disclosure relates to signal processing of music and in particular the removal of unwanted artifacts from a music signal. A method for attenuating resonances in a sound signal which uses sub-sampling of at least one sub-band of the original signal to save computing resources is set out. The method includes at least steps in which an incoming signal block is filtered into at least two different frequency sub-band signals, at least one of the sub-band signals is subsampled, a resonance analysis step is performed for each sub-band signal, a step resulting in a filter response, a sub-band signal from each sub-band is convolved with the corresponding filter response to produce a filtered sub-band signal, for each subsampled sub-band, the filtered sub-band signal is upsampled, and finally the upsampled sub-band signals of subsampled sub-bands and filtered sub-band signals of any non-subsampled sub-bands are combined to form a result signal block.Type: GrantFiled: December 1, 2023Date of Patent: July 14, 2026Assignee: Oeksound OyInventor: Olli Keskinen

Publication number: 20260057866Abstract: A signal processing method for processing audio signals and in particular for adjusting the tone of music signals is disclosed. The method provides adaptive tonality control. Here, a shape dependent filter magnitude response is calculated, a level dependent filter magnitude response is calculated, a result response is calculated based on the shape and level dependent filter magnitude responses, and an output signal is calculated by convolving an input signal with the result response. In particular, the calculation of the shape dependent filter magnitude response comprises at least the steps of calculating a magnitude spectrum of a signal, filtering the resulting magnitude spectrum using a first smoothing filter, applying a predetermined weighting curve to the spectrum, detrending the weighted spectrum by fitting a curve to said weighted spectrum and subtracting said fitted curve from said weighted spectrum, and inverting the resulting spectrum to form the shape dependent filter magnitude response.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 23, 2024Publication date: February 26, 2026Applicant: OEKSOUND OYInventors: Tommi GRÖHN, Olli KESKINEN

Patent number: 10587238Abstract: The invention is related to sound processing methods, especially to digital sound processing methods. In an embodiment of the invention, the method includes at least the following steps: calculating the magnitude spectrum of a segment of the sound signal, processing of the calculated magnitude spectrum to produce an outline of the spectrum indicating the peaks of the calculated magnitude spectrum, processing said outline to adjust said peaks and surrounding frequency areas of the spectrum, applying a Hilbert transform to said processed outline for forming the complex spectrum of a minimum phase impulse response, and convolving said minimum phase impulse response with said segment of the sound signal for forming a processed output signal segment.Type: GrantFiled: October 26, 2017Date of Patent: March 10, 2020Assignee: OEKSOUND OYInventor: Olli Erik Keskinen
