Patents Assigned to Oerlikon Motch Corporation
  • Patent number: 4944636
Abstract: A device for the transferring and accumulating of packing elements in the form of a box which is open on one face, using an air conveyor on an accumulating path in a closed loop (1) to which there is connected at least one upstream machine feeding the accumulating path with packing elements and at least one downstream machine fed with packing elements from the accumulating path, characterized by the fact that said closed loop (1) is arranged substantially vertically and comprises an upper horizontal path portion (2), a lower horizontal path portion (3) located below the upper portion, and two curved end connecting portions (4, 5), certain machines being connected to the upper portion of the path and other machines being connected to the lower portion of the path.

  • Patent number: 4944635
Abstract: The device is adapted for the accumulating of a variable number of objects having a collar (9) in the vicinity of their upper end, in particular plastic bottles (8). The holding of the objects is effected in each row by a flow of air coming from an elongated air conveyor arranged above the path of the objects, having a lower wall provided with a longitudinal slit the edges of which serve as guide for the collar (9) of the objects (8), a blow channel having lateral slits for the flow of the air being placed above the longitudinal slit so that the air acts on the upper end of the objects, causing their displacement.

  • Patent number: 4915569
Abstract: Combination machine tool appartaus and pallet changing system includes a single pallet changer for changing both work pieces at a work piece machining station on the machine tool and tools at a tool storage station on the machine tool. The work piece machining station and tool storage station are offset approximately 45.degree. from each other as measured from the rotational axis of the pallet changer, which is provided with additional retractable rotational stops for locating the pallet changer at these additional 45.degree. indexing positions. Also, the tool storage station is located forwardly of the work piece machining station, thus allowing the pallet changer to be positioned closer to the front of the machine tool in the region of the work piece machining station without interfering with the indexing movement of the pallet changer between stations.

  • Patent number: 4875693
Abstract: Arbor assembly includes a fixed arbor section and a removable arbor section each including a pair of longitudinally spaced apart cylindrical pilot surfaces of different diameters spaced the same distance apart. Between the pilot surfaces on each arbor section is a guiding taper to aid in aligning the pilot surfaces so that such pilot surfaces freely engage each other during assembly. Longitudinally spaced locating tapers on the arbor sections are engageable by longitudinally spaced bearing surfaces on the workpiece for concentrically locating the workpiece between the arbor sections. A floating collet transmits a clamping force to the removable arbor section to urge the removable arbor section toward the fixed arbor section to clamp the workpiece between such arbor sections while the collet is in a free state without any flexing of the collet fingers.
