The assurance cap body includes a plurality of alternating primary latch fingers and step fingers respectively engageable with a recess groove in the connector body and a raised surface on the tubular member. Secondary latches can include an inner support ring carried on the assurance cap body comprising an inner end engageable with a raised surface on the tubular member when the primary latched fingers are engaged with the recessed groove in the connector body.
