Patents Assigned to Oetlinger Tool Engineering Co., Inc.
  • Patent number: 7143916
Abstract: A connection device is provided for interconnecting a grid element to a support rail for a lower blanking tool of a carton die cutting machine. The connection device includes a generally flat base having first and second sides and an inner surface for engaging the grid element. First and second connection arms depend from opposite sides of the base. The connection arms have terminal ends receivable in corresponding first grooves in the support rail. A flyer extends from the connection device for raising a scrap portion of the carton above the grid element after a blanking operation.

  • Patent number: 6648318
Abstract: A welding jig is provided for supporting and aligning first and second workpieces in preparation for a welding operation. The welding jig includes a first support arm extending along a first axis. A second support arm is operatively connected to the first support arm and extends along a second axis generally perpendicular to the first axis. A first clamping member is operatively connected to the first end of the first support arm for supporting a first workpiece. A second clamping member is pivotably connected to the first end of the second support arm for supporting a second workpiece. The second clamping member may be pivoted about a vertical axis for adjusting the angle between the first and second workpieces. In addition, the axial position of the second workpiece may be adjusted by moving the second clamping member along an axis parallel to the first workpiece.

  • Patent number: 5271260
Abstract: A bending device for forming a blanking tool of a die cutter used for cutting folding carton blanks. The bending device includes a support member defining a planar work surface, an axle member defining a longitudinal axis of rotation and orientated for rotation about said axis in a plane passing through said axis and perpendicular to said work surface, locator pins on said support member defining a plurality of bending stations and cooperable with said axle member to position said axle member at one of said bending stations during a bending operation; mounting arms for mounting said axle member on said support member to permit movement of said axle member to any one of said bending stations; and a roller mounted eccentrically at the lower end of said axle member and defining a bending axis parallel to and spaced from said rotational axis. When the axle member is positioned at a bending station and rotated a workpiece located between the roller and locator pin is bent to a desired angle.

  • Patent number: 5232428
Abstract: A carton blank support member is mounted above a traveling carton blank in a folder gluer machine. The support member is cyclicly driven between an inoperative position above the carton blank to an operative position engaging the top surface of the blank adjacent a score line formed in the blank. The score line defines a flap which is folded upwardly when the support member is in engagement with the top surface of the carton blank to form a side wall of the carton. The support member prevents the flap from buckling during the folding operation, especially when recycled paperboard is used as the carton blank.
