Patent number: 6832427Abstract: A buoyant clamp assembly and method for clamping an elongate member to a support member. The buoyant clamp assembly includes a flexible strap having first and second ends. Affixed to the exterior of the flexible strap are wear blocks. A highly frictional layer is attached to the interior of the flexible strap to increase friction between the clamping assembly and the elongate or support member. The flexible strap extends substantially around the elongate and support members. The first and second ends are adapted to be coupled to each other via a loop member. The clamp assembly also includes a tensioner assembly having first and second tensioner bars spaced parallel to one another. Capture bolts affixed to the tensioner assembly prevent the first and second tensioner bars from separating. Each of the first and second tensioner bars includes a bullnose face and the bullnose faces are in opposing relationship to one another.Type: GrantFiled: October 17, 2002Date of Patent: December 21, 2004Assignee: Offshore Clamp & Protector Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Thomas Larry Meuth, Stanley Brannan

Patent number: 5921517Abstract: A clamp assembly for clamping an elongate member to a support member. The clamp assembly includes a flexible strap having first and second ends. The flexible strap extends substantially around the elongate and support members. The first and second ends are adapted to be coupled to each other or to the support member. The clamp assembly also includes a tensioner assembly having first and second tensioner bars spaced parallel to one another. Each of the first and second tensioner bars includes a bullnose face and the bullnose faces are in opposing relationship to one another. The tensioner assembly also includes an adjusting member for adjusting the spacing between the first and second tensioner bars. The flexible strap extends twice through the space between the first and second tensioner bars.Type: GrantFiled: March 10, 1997Date of Patent: July 13, 1999Assignee: Offshore Clamp & Protector Technologies, Inc.Inventor: Thomas Larry Meuth

Patent number: 5904445Abstract: A stand-off assembly to attach to a cylindrical support member. The stand-off assembly includes a first component having a first arcuate portion adapted to conform to an outer surface of the cylindrical support member. The first component has a first attachment upright. A second component has a second arcuate portion adapted to conform to the outer surface of the cylindrical support member and also includes a second attachment upright. The second component is connected to the first component with a hinge connection. The first and second arcuate portions in combination extend substantially around the cylindrical support member and the first and second attachment uprights are parallel but separated from each other when the first and second arcuate portions are extended substantially around the cylindrical support member.Type: GrantFiled: June 16, 1997Date of Patent: May 18, 1999Assignee: Offshore Clamp & Protector Technologies, Inc.Inventor: Thomas Larry Meuth

Patent number: 5866218Abstract: A pipe end load support and protector apparatus for attaching to an end of a pipe to protect the pipe end. The apparatus comprising a circular member having an outer diameter approximating the outer diameter of the pipe end. The circular member has an end bearing portion made of a closed cell rigid polyurethane foam. The closed cell rigid polyurethane foam has a density in the range of about 40 to 70 pounds per cubic foot.Type: GrantFiled: August 23, 1996Date of Patent: February 2, 1999Assignee: Offshore Clamp & Protector Technologies, Inc.Inventor: Thomas Larry Meuth
