    Abstract: A paper-shredding machine has a sleeve mounted for limited movement towards and away from a surface of a housing of the machine to define an inlet opening, through which paper can be fed to cutters disposed within the housing. The sleeve normally occupies a position in which the inlet opening is closed but can move relative to the housing to admit paper through the inlet opening.
