Patents Assigned to Ogura Corporation
  • Patent number: 5320206
Abstract: The electromagnetic clutch (10) includes a rotor assembly (12), an armature assembly (14) and a field assembly (16). The field assembly (16) includes a ring and flange assembly (86). A terminal passage (104) is provided through the base portion (100) of the circular ring 96 with a U-shaped cross-section that form as a toroidal chamber (98). An electromagnetic coil (90) is encased in a bobbin (88) and a cap (92) and inserted into the toroidal chamber with a bobbin terminal post (110) extending into the terminal passage (104). A terminal housing (120) with a terminal sleeve (142) telescopically receives the bobbin terminal post (110) and the terminal sleeve (142) extends into the terminal passage (104). Leads (112 and 114) from the electromagnetic coil (90) extend into the terminal housing (120). Terminals (122) are housed in terminal apertures (136 and 138) in the terminal housing ( 120) and are in contact with the leads (112 and 114).

  • Patent number: 5184705
Abstract: An electromagnetic clutch 11 including a rotor assembly 14 with an attraction surface 14d, a field coil assembly with an electromagnetic coil 15 and a coil support yoke 16, and an armature assembly 19. The armature assembly has an armature hub 20 which can be connected to a driven shaft 18, a stopper plate 21 connected to the hub 20, a ring shaped armature 24 and a damper which connects the armature to the stopper plate. The damper has a rubber damper 27 which is held in a damper cover 30a, 30b or 125b. The damper cover includes an open side with bevelled edges. The bevelled edges have an arc-shaped area 30e, 30f or 125c that prevents stress contractions in the end of the rubber damper 27 or 126 to prevent cracking of the vulcanized rubber. A rivet 25 or 124 may also be in the rubber damper. A free end of the rivet has a bevelled arc-shaped area 25a or 124a that limits stress concentrations to prevent cracking of the rubber damper 27 or 126.

  • Patent number: 5141090
Abstract: An electromagnetic clutch 10 for transmitting torque includes a field coil assembly 16, a rotor assembly 18 and an armature assembly 20. The field coil assembly 16 includes a toroidal electromagnetic coil 22. The rotor assembly includes a tubular portion 42 mounted on a bearing 36, a ring-shaped section 52 with an attraction surface 54, an outer drum-shaped flange 56 and a drive ring 60. The armature assembly 20 includes an armature hub 62, rubber stops 70, ring-shaped armature 74 and spring steel connecting members 72 connecting the armature to the armature hub. The armature hub 62 includes a central hub 64 with a bore 66 and a stopper plate 68. The bore 66 receives a splined shaft 14 and an air gap adjustment screw 88. A shaft contact surface 94 on the air gap adjustment screw 88 contacts the forward end 96 of a splined shaft 14.
