Abstract: A heat exchanger tube bundle extractor capable of being used either suspended from a crane or while mounted onto a rigid extendible boom. The extractor features brackets for attaching of the extractor to cables suspended from a crane. The extractor can also be mounted onto an extendible boom having an articulated head. When desired, the bundle extractor can be used while mounted onto the boom. If crane operations are preferred, the extractor can be readily detached from the boom and suspended from a crane at much higher elevations.

Abstract: A method for cleaning the interior wall of a tube with a slurry and a tubular lance. The method includes the steps of inserting an end of the tubular lance into the tube and pumping a fluid through the tubular lance into the tube. A slurry is pumped into the interior of the tube between the tubular lance and the interior of the tube. The slurry mixes with the fluid at the end of the tubular lance in the tube and the slurry and fluid mixture is propelled against the interior tube wall at the end of the tubular lance to clean the interior wall of the tube.

Abstract: An improved multi-lance cleaning apparatus for cleaning the interior of heat exchanger tubes, the apparatus having a lance housing, a slidable manifold within the lance housing, a single conduit connecting the manifold with a high pressure, high volume fluid source, a spool for storing the conduit permitting it to be advanced and retracted, means for moving the manifold within the housing, a plurality of lances removably attached to the manifold and adapted to fit within a heat exchanger tube and tube guides to guide and support the lances. The lances include a plurality of flexible lances attached to rigid lances and adapted to fit within a heat exchanger tube which are capable of traversing a curved path within the tube bundle.

Abstract: A multi-hose flexible lance tube cleaning apparatus for cleaning the interior of heat exchanger tubes, the apparatus having a spool and means for rotating the spool. A plurality of tubular flexible lances are reeled on the spool assembly. Each flexible lance is in communication with a high pressure fluid source and is adapted to fit within a heat exchanger tube. The flexible lances advance into the interior of the heat exchanger tubes as the spool is rotated to reel out the flexible lances and as the high pressure fluid exits the jetting tips of the flexible lances. The cleaning apparatus also includes tube guides to guide and support the flexible lances and further includes a positioning assembly for positioning the flexible lances in substantial alignment with the heat exchanger tubes.

Abstract: A mobile tube bundle cleaning apparatus comprised of a truck mounted fluid and hydraulic pressure sources including high pressure pumps and diesel engines. The apparatus further includes a trailer mounted tube bundle cleaning system including an articulable mobile crane, outriggers for stabilizing the trailer during cleaning operations and a system for supporting and rotating a tube bundle during cleaning operations. The apparatus further includes a remote control pedestal from which an operator may control the fluid pressurizing system, the crane and the operation of the tube bundle rotating system.
