Abstract: A formed exfoliated graphite article which comprises an oxidation-resistant coating layer formed at least in the surface layer portion thereof, preferably wherein the oxidation-resistant coating layer contains a boron element and a phosphorus element, the content of a boron element in the oxidation-resistant coating layer is 1 mass % or more, the content of a phosphorus in the oxidation-resistant coating layer is 0.1 mass % or more, and the oxidation-resistant coating layer is formed in a thickness of 0.5 ?m or more.

Abstract: Lead-free solid lubricant to be embedded in pores or grooves formed at a sliding surface of a sliding member body, comprising 20 to 40% by weight of at least one wax selected from hydrocarbon waxes, higher-fatty acids, esters of higher-fatty acid and amides of higher-fatty acid, 20 to 40% by weight of melamine cyanurate, and 20 to 50% by weight of a polytetrafluoroethylene resin. The lubricant exhibits sliding properties identical to or higher than those of lead-containing solid lubricants, even under high load conditions.
Abstract: A punch unit for a press die for punching a hole in sheet metal includes: a piercing punch provided with a sharp projection; a plunger for pressing the piercing punch; a cylinder for supporting the piercing punch and the plunger slidably in a punching direction; and a coil spring for retracting the piercing punch and the plunger. Also disclosed are a press die for punching a hole in sheet metal and a punching method using the punch unit.
Abstract: A resin composition for sliding members which comprises 1 to 10 wt. % hydrocarbon wax, 0.1 to 3 wt. % at least one member selected from the group consisting of phosphates, sulfates, and carbonates, 1 to 20 wt. % phenoxy resin, 0.1 to 5 wt. % compatibilizing agent, and a polybutylene terephthalate resin as the remainder; and a sliding member obtained by molding the resin composition. The resin composition for sliding members and the sliding member obtained by molding the resin composition have excellent frictional and wearing properties even when a soft metal, e.g., an aluminum alloy, is used as a mating material.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a heat-resistant expanded graphite sheet is characterized in that after an acid-treated graphite material obtained by treating a graphite material with a strong acid is compounded with a powder of an organic phosphorus compound and is agitated and mixed uniformly to obtain a mixture, this mixture is subjected to heating treatment for 1 to 10 seconds at temperatures of 950 to 1200° C. to produce cracked gas, that gaps between graphite layers are expanded by its gas pressure to obtain expanded graphite particles having an expansion rate of 200 to 300 times, and that these expanded graphite particles are subjected to pressure molding.
