Abstract: A device for adjusting parts which can move in relation to each other includes: a driveable threaded hollow spindle with inner and outer threads increasing in opposing directions; an inner spindle cooperating with the inner threads and connected to a first fixing device to secure the device to one of the moveable parts; and a propulsive tube cooperating with the outer threads via an outer nut. The propulsive tube is connected to a second fixing device enabling fixation on one of the parts which can move in relation to each other. The threaded hollow spindle may be mounted in a rotationally fixed and longitudinally displaceable manner on a catch device which can be rotationally driven around the axis of the hollow spindle.

Abstract: The invention relates to an assembly for adjusting mobile elements of furniture, comprising a motor, a control circuit which is provided with push-button switches, a current supply circuit, a mains connection, a mains supply circuit, a mains isolating relay and an auxiliary current source. The aim of the invention is to construct said assembly in a more cost-effective manner whilst at the same time retaining a safety isolation from the mains. To achieve this, the first push-button switch forms a direct electric circuit with the motor and the control input of the isolating relay is connected in parallel to the motor, or is connected to the latter via a Graetz bridge.

Abstract: A drive mechanism for adjusting parts in furniture for sitting and lying down includes parts activated via a shaft being provided with a control lever. Adjusting mechanisms which can be driven by an electromotor are provided for driving purposes. The invention provides a drive mechanism which is compact especially with the shafts arranged close to each other. An adjusting mechanism is positioned so that the longitudinal side facing away from the shafts is opposite the longitudinal side of the other adjusting mechanism facing the shafts.

Abstract: The invention relates to a safety device for furniture with at least one movable element which can be moved by a motor-driven positioning drive controlled by operating controls, particularly the head and/or foot of a base for a bed, or a seat and/or backrest element of an armchair, where the positioning of the element forms a gap in which an object or body part can become trapped as a result of the movement of the element. If a body part becomes trapped, this can lead to serious injury. Objects must also be prevented from becoming trapped, as they can cause damage to the furniture. According to the invention, at least one contact element is positioned in the gap which, when subjected to the pressure applied by an object or body part becoming trapped, closes an electric circuit which bridges a switch associated with one of the operating controls, the closing of which prevents further movement of the positioning drive.
