Patent number: 4836481Abstract: ahe support extends longitudinally beneath the worktop portion of the desk, structurally connects tubular legs, box legs, load-bearing drawer units and worktop portions and is formed by modular elements of predetermined length having at the ends thereof connecting elements for connecting modular elements end to end. Mountings are provided at intervals for laterally connecting other modular elements by means of connecting elements giving rise to various configurations. The modular elements and the connecting elements internally house power outlets and cables and are of channel section with large openings of intervals along their bottom and side walls, to permit easy access to the cables and to power outlets for supplying the items of electrical equipment which are supported by the worktop portions.Type: GrantFiled: February 25, 1988Date of Patent: June 6, 1989Assignee: Olivetti Synthesis, S.p.A.Inventor: Pietro Ceccarelli

Patent number: 4777777Abstract: The connecting arrangement is applied to each of two panels to be joined and has a lateral upright comprising at least one hollow support which extends over the entire length of the upright. Each support defines a substantially cylindrical seat and a passage which extends to the outside, which are respectively capable of accommodating a cylindrical portion and a web of a shaped connecting member. The member can be removably slid in with the portions thereof in the seats of two hollow supports of two contiguous panels. The connecting member is made in one piece from plastics material and the web may be flat or curved at variable angles. This permits the arrangement of contiguous panels in a coplanar configuration, at 90.degree. to each other or at 120.degree. to each other. The connecting member may be fixed in place after it has been slid in by members blocking the ends of the sets.Type: GrantFiled: September 2, 1986Date of Patent: October 18, 1988Assignee: Olivetti Synthesis, S.p.A.Inventor: Galli Massimo

Patent number: 4683695Abstract: The base member for divider panels comprises a load-bearing support which defines two supply passages or channels for electrical cables and houses power outlets for supplying items of electrical equipment which are adjacent to the panels. The support is integral with two cover plate portions which complete the two passages and are movable from an open position in which they permit access to the passages to a closed position in which they completely cover the two passages. The base member is of plastics material produced by extrusion in one piece and comprises rigid zones capable of operating as a support means and flexible, hinge zones capable of permitting movement of the plate portions. Resilient lips extending along the two plate portions engage with latch means on the load-bearing support to hold the plate portions in the closed position.Type: GrantFiled: September 2, 1986Date of Patent: August 4, 1987Assignee: Olivetti Synthesis, S.p.A.Inventor: Massimo Galli
