Patent number: 6954233Abstract: An electronic image pick-up apparatus acquires auto-focus data from each of an AF sensor module and an image sensor disposed in conjugate positions in a test mode, stores data on any relative deviation between those items of auto-focus data and drives a photographic lens based on the data of relative deviation of auto-focus in a normal mode.Type: GrantFiled: April 11, 2000Date of Patent: October 11, 2005Assignee: Olympus OpticalInventor: Junichi Ito

Patent number: 6637887Abstract: A multi-display device synthesizes partial images, by using multiple projectors to construct one image. Each projector has an illumination device, a lattice-like lens array, a display, and a projection lens. The illumination device and lattice-like lens array form secondary light source images that are arrayed in a rectangular lattice. The display is illuminated by the plurality of secondary light source images and displays partial images. The projection lens projects the partial images. Interceptors intercept the margins of projected partial images to obtain uniform luminance. Each interceptor has an intercepting edge that is alternately concave and convex. The height of the convex parts and the pitch between adjoining concave and convex parts are selected so that projections produced by adjoining secondary light source images are displaced from each other by a half phase. Thus, a belt-shaped distribution of luminance values in the margins of the partial images are resolved nearly perfectly.Type: GrantFiled: November 2, 2001Date of Patent: October 28, 2003Assignee: Olympus OpticalInventor: Kazuya Yamanaka

Patent number: 6638212Abstract: A nonvolatile, programmable memory is incorporated in an endoscope. Endoscope-related data closely relevant to the endoscope, such as, an endoscope model name and the number of power feeds are stored in the nonvolatile memory. The endoscope is connected to an external image processing apparatus, and endoscope-related data is read from the nonvolatile memory. Based on the read endoscope-related data, the use situation of the endoscope is grasped or the endoscope is managed. The number of power feeds is varied depending on the use situation of the endoscope, and written in the nonvolatile memory. Thus, the endoscope-related data is used to maintain the endoscope and reduce a load to be incurred by the external image processing apparatus that is a connected apparatus. Consequently, the endoscope can be managed and maintained easily using a small software system.Type: GrantFiled: July 25, 2000Date of Patent: October 28, 2003Assignee: Olympus OpticalInventor: Ryu Oshima

Patent number: 6639890Abstract: An amplitude detection circuit detects the peak value of an output signal of a photo-detector amplified by a head amplifier. The peak value detected by the amplitude detection circuit is read into a drive controller, and compared with a target value suitable for coding in a binary format a detected signal. The gain of a variable gain amplifier is adjusted accordingly. Consequently, an analog signal processing circuit can stably codify the detected signal in a binary format. Under the control of the drive controller, a recording power level calculation circuit determines a test writing power level with which test writing is performed on a test track of a magneto-optical disk. The recording power level calculation circuit then calculates an actual record power for each zone of the magneto-optical disk according to the test writing power level.Type: GrantFiled: June 24, 1999Date of Patent: October 28, 2003Assignee: Olympus OpticalInventors: Toshimasa Miura, Yoshihisa Miyazaki, Yuichi Tsuchimochi, Yasuhiro Fujiwara, Naoyuki Sato, Yoshiyuki Fukuya

Patent number: 4621906Abstract: A zoom lens assembly with an auto-focus function includes first and second lens groups, and a control device for causing a drive mechanism to rotate a distance-presetting ring which moves one of the lens groups, to adjust a focus in accordance with a signal sent from a light-receiving element for indicating the focused state of a foreground object. A line pattern substrate is arranged to move with the distance-presetting ring. A change in the focal length caused by the rotation of a zoom ring is sensed by a substrate detecting element which informs the control device of that extent to which the distance-presetting ring is to be rotated in order to assure a proper focus notwithstanding the changed focal length. The corrective rotation of the distance-presetting ring is detected by movement of the line pattern substrate relative to the detecting element. The light-receiving element is supplied with a beam of light reflected from the foreground object through the first and second groups of lenses.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 1985Date of Patent: November 11, 1986Assignee: Olympus OpticalInventors: Akihiko Hashimoto, Hitoshi Shirai, Kazutoshi Shiratori
