Publication number: 20020071009Abstract: An ink jet head includes four plate-like piezoelectric bodies each having a primary surface having a plurality of parallel grooves formed therein in a predetermined direction, a end surface on which a one end of the groove is open, and an electrode formed on the inner surface of the groove. These piezoelectric bodies are stacked one upon the other on the primary surfaces under the state that the openings of these piezoelectric bodies are allowed to face the same direction, and that the primary surfaces of these piezoelectric bodies are allowed to face the same direction. Further, formed is a common liquid supply path allowing the plural grooves of the piezoelectric bodies to communicate with each other to form ink flow path.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 10, 2001Publication date: June 13, 2002Applicant: OLYMPUS OPTICAL., LTD.Inventors: Takahisa Yamada, Takashi Matsuyama, Masanobu Shimizu

Patent number: 6353809Abstract: A computer reads a voice speech recognition program from a first recording medium, and reads voice data from a second recording medium, and causes a CPU in the computer to recognize speech represented by the read voice data according to the speech recognition program, convert the result of speech recognition into text data, and display the converted text data on a display unit. A check mark button used by a speaker designates a portion of voice data, which is input through a microphone, corresponding to an unnecessary word or the like. The portion of the voice data in which a check mark is inscribed is not regarded as an object of speech recognition. Only the other portion of voice data in which the check mark is not inscribed is regarded as an object of speech recognition, and speech recognition is thus carried out. Furthermore, the sound level of a voice portion of voice data is rated. The gain of the voice data is adjusted according to the rated level.Type: GrantFiled: June 2, 1998Date of Patent: March 5, 2002Assignee: Olympus Optical, Ltd.Inventors: Hidetaka Takahashi, Takafumi Onishi

Patent number: 5751494Abstract: A head-mounted image display apparatus which uses two or more image display devices, and which is compact and lightweight and yet enables observation of a clear image over the entire observation image field at a wide field angle and high resolution. The image display apparatus includes two image display devices (5 and 6) and two ocular optical systems (3 and 4) for projecting, respectively, images formed by the two image display devices (5 and 6) as enlarged virtual images in front of one common eyeball (7) of an observer and for leading the projected images to the eyeball (7). When the two ocular optical systems are defined as a first ocular optical system (3) and a second ocular optical system (4) in order from the observer side, the first and second ocular optical systems (3 and 4) have concave mirrors (12 and 22), respectively. These reflecting surfaces are tilted or decentered with respect to an observer's visual axis (2).Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 1996Date of Patent: May 12, 1998Assignee: Olympus Optical., Ltd.Inventor: Koichi Takahashi

Patent number: 5469840Abstract: An endoscope apparatus according to the present invention includes a warping velocity control device which receives an angle of warp detected by an angle detection device and a value of an electric current realized at this angle of warp and detected by an electric current detection device. The control device makes comparisons between the angle of warp and the value of the electric current and data about a normal state stored in a storage device. If the result is larger than data for the normal state by a predetermined value, the warping velocity is lowered while a discrimination is made that an abnormal state (the warp-enabled portion has come in contact with the body wall) takes place. Additionally, the apparatus could include a time detecting device for detecting a time in which an electric quantity supplied to a drive means is larger than a predetermined time. The warping velocity control device controls the warping velocity according to the comparison made by the time detecting device.Type: GrantFiled: May 10, 1994Date of Patent: November 28, 1995Assignee: Olympus Optical, Ltd.Inventors: Yoshiyuki Tanii, Motokazu Nakamura, Yoshikatsu Nagayama, Katsuaki Morita, Hiroki Hibino, Akira Suzuki
