  • Patent number: 11688978
Abstract: A connector to easily and correctly join an electrical component to a printed circuit board is provided. The connector comprises a generally C-shaped electrically conductive element that provides for connection alternatively to the positive and negative terminals of a device depending on the orientation of the connector. As a result of the shapes of the ends of the connector, a device can only be plugged in one way. The connector can be made from a single sheet of electrically conductive material bent generally into a ā€œCā€ shape, with specific tabs and cuts made therein. The connector includes a tab that allows for quick and automated connection to a printed circuit board, and an element to prevent connectors from interlocking while in a loose and unconnected state as, during manufacturing, plating, or storage, allowing them to be added to a board using automated procedures for quick, accurate and low cost construction.

  • Publication number: 20220260432
Abstract: A non-invasive measuring device calculates a temperature of a medium in a container or conduit. The device includes at least one first sensor disposed on an exterior surface of the container or conduit and measures a temperature (To) of the exterior surface. The measuring device also includes at least one second sensor disposed on the exterior surface and measures a heat flux (q?) moving through a wall of the container or conduit. The measuring device further includes a processor operatively coupled to the first sensor and the second sensor. The processor is configured to receive the temperature (To) measurements and the heat flux (q?) measurements from the first sensor and the second sensor and to calculate a temperature of the medium in the container or conduit based on input variables about the container or conduit including radius, thickness and thermal conductivity of the material of the container or conduit.

Abstract: A connector to easily and correctly join an electrical component to a printed circuit board is provided. The connector comprises a generally C-shaped electrically conductive element that provides for connection alternatively to the positive and negative terminals of a device depending on the orientation of the connector. In this way, one connector is made that can be used to alternatively satisfy connection to both positive and negative terminals and thereby simplify the construction of the element. Because of the shapes of the ends of the connector, a device can only be plugged in one way. The connector can be made from a single sheet of electrically conductive material bent generally into a ā€œCā€ shape, with specific tabs and cuts made therein.

  • Patent number: 9816889
Abstract: A sensing system that provides an isolation diaphragm through which pressure is transmitted from a process fluid to a fill fluid contained within the sensing system's body is provided. In the system, fill fluid transfers pressure to semiconductor sensors that provide signals for both the differential pressure and the static pressure, thereby allowing for signal conditioning of the differential output to compensate for the effects of static pressure. The system's body provides a cavity for fill fluid behind each of the isolation diaphragms. At least one flat plate actuation diaphragm allows controlled movement of oil as the differential pressure of the isolation diaphragm increases. Fluid volumes are managed for thermal effects, passive thermal volume change; compensation is accomplish by offsetting the large coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) of fill fluid by providing at least one insert whose coefficient of thermal expansion is smaller than the CTE of the system body.

  • Publication number: 20110281201
Abstract: An electrical circuit is presented that includes an anode conductor formed from a first wire and a cathode conductor formed from a second wire. The first wire and the second wire each comprised of a predetermined diameter. At least a portion of the predetermined diameter of the wires is compressed or extruded to provide an increased surface area. The conductors are disposed about an electrolyte material of an energy generating device, e.g., a fuel cell. The increased surface area of the leads increases a total collected energy of the fuel cell without increasing the conductor mass or tensile strength such that weight and other characteristics of the fuel cell are not adversely impacted as compared to conventional fuel cell arrangements.

  • Patent number: 6883430
Abstract: A unique packaging method is disclosed. The method advertises products related to a product shipped in a box and comprises obtaining a box, placing a product in the box, and identifying a particular product category associated with the product being shipped in the box. This may be followed by obtaining an elongated flexible planar member having a width and a length substantially greater than the width, the planar member having an upper surface and a lower surface. The flexible planar member is provided with a layer of adhesive material deposited on and covering a substantial portion of the lower surface to form a packaging tape. The tape is imprinted with indicia comprising visually perceivable information to provide a purchaser with information relating to various products within the particular product category by disposing the information on the upper surface of the tape. The box is sealed with the tape.

  • Patent number: 6659639
Abstract: Method and Apparatus are provided for visibly outlining the energy zone to be measured by a radiometer, the method comprises providing a laser sighting device on the radiometer adapted to emit more than two laser beams against a surface whose temperature is to be measured and positioning said laser beams about the energy zone to identify said energy zone. The apparatus comprises a laser sighting device adapted to emit more than two laser beams against the surface and means to position said laser beams about the energy zone and to identify said zone. A primary laser beam is passed through or over a beam splitter or a diffraction grating and formed into a plurality of secondary beams which produce on the target surface a pattern which identifies the zone investigated with the radiometer. Laser light may be directed axially to illuminate the central area of the zone.

Abstract: Method and apparatus are provided for visibly outlining the energy zone to be measured by a radiometer. The method comprises the steps of providing a laser sighting device on the radiometer adapted to emit more than two laser beams against a surface whose temperature is to be measured and positioning said laser beams about the energy zone to outline said energy zone. The apparatus comprises a laser sighting device adapted to emit more than two laser beams against the surface and means to position said laser beams about the energy zone to outline said energy zone. The laser beams may be rotated about the periphery of the energy zone. In another embodiment, a pair of laser beams are projected on opposite sides of the energy zone. The laser beams may be further pulsed on and off in a synchronised manner so as to cause a series of intermittent lines to outline the energy zone. Such an embodiment improves the efficiency of the laser and results in brighter laser beams being projected.
