  • Patent number: 4939706
Abstract: A transaction processing apparatus is provided which includes an alarm output unit which generates an alarm output when a comparator determines that the elapsed time during which a drawer of the processing apparatus has remained open is greater than or equal to a predetermined reference value. In addition, the apparatus includes a storage means for recording an indication of the time during which the drawer remains open for each one of a plurality of operators of the apparatus. The apparatus includes a counter for counting the elapsed time from a time when it is determined that the drawer is open and a second time when it is determined that the drawer has been closed. This elapsed time is compared by a comparator with a stored reference value to control triggering of the alarm output unit.

  • Patent number: 4933520
Abstract: An electrical contact is provided for use in an electromagnetic relay. The electrical contact includes an outer coating containing an element of the VA Group such as antimony, arsenic, phosphorus or bismuth. Thus, the electrical contact does not serve as a catalyst for oxidizing any organic gases which may be produced during the operation of the electromagnetic relay. Accordingly, oxidation of the gases is reduced, carbon generation is suppressed and high reliability of the contact can be achieved.

  • Patent number: 4927264
Abstract: In order to measure the oxygen saturation in venous blood, a venous blood stream is made time-variant by applying pressure with a peak value of the minimum blood pressure to a proximal portion from a measuring part. Light beams with different wavelengths are transmitted from the measuring part and detected by photodiodes. Photodetected signals are logarithm-converted and venous signal components are separated from logarithm-converted signals with a filter circuit. The oxygen saturation of venous blood is calculated on the basis of separated venous signal components.

  • Patent number: 4924210
Abstract: A memory of a data carrier attached to an article to be identified stores a classification code indicative of the data carrier's own communication protocol. Plural types of communication protocols are registered, in correspondence with the classification codes thereof, in the memory of a controller capable of communicating with the data carrier. Upon receiving a classification code transmitted by the data carrier, the controller selects from its memory a communication protocol indicated by the received classification code and then executes communication with the data carrier by using the selected communication protocol.

  • Patent number: 4920340
Abstract: A vehicle detecting system detects the existence of a vehicle on a roadway and communicates therewith in the following manner. A pair of transmitting and receiving coils are arranged on both sides of a detection area set over the roadway of the vehicle. The first high frequency signal of the first frequency is applied to the transmitting coil to form the high frequency magnetic field between those coils. The existence of the vehicle is detected on the basis of the point such that the characteristic such as level or phase of the signal induced in the receiving coil changes due to the vehicle which entered the magnetic field. The first high frequency signal which is applied to the transmitting coil is modulated by the data to be transmitted to the vehicle. Or, the second high frequency signal which has the second frequency different form the first frequency of the first signal and is transmitted from the vehicle is received by the receiving coil and demodulated.
