Patent number: 10331807Abstract: A method and system for simultaneously performing takeoff of multiple building conditions in a construction project software program is disclosed. The method comprises selecting two or more building conditions and moving a pointer to a construction drawing to select an area to perform takeoff of the multiple building conditions on. Once the area has been selected, the method and system automatically creates one or more live objects on the selected area for each of the selected building conditions and simultaneously quantifies each of the selected building conditions based on the size of the selected area.Type: GrantFiled: November 6, 2017Date of Patent: June 25, 2019Assignee: ON CENTER SOFTWARE, INC.Inventor: Leonard Buzz

Patent number: 10296665Abstract: A method and system for managing drawings in a construction project software program may include uploading drawings for a project in sets of drawings, collating the sets, determining if a drawing in a later set corresponds with a drawing in an earlier set, and creating and displaying a list of the uploaded drawings. The list includes a number of fields for each of the drawings in the list. The fields include a name for each drawing, a Sheet Number, and an issue date. If a drawing in a later set corresponds with a drawing in an earlier set, the list includes an indication that clearly shows such a correspondence and shows which set should be used for the latest version of such corresponding drawings.Type: GrantFiled: March 15, 2013Date of Patent: May 21, 2019Assignee: ON CENTER SOFTWARE, INC.Inventors: Leonard Buzz, Angelo M. Castelli, Ronnie Yates

Publication number: 20140019148Abstract: A method for keeping track of and automatically determining the quantity and/or conflicts associated with change orders in a construction project is disclosed. Once a bid is accepted, each new change order can be turned into a new change order bid in which objects and/or building conditions are added, changed or deleted as desired. The method automatically calculates the building condition quantity changes between the original base bid and each change order. Additionally, the method links objects in each of the change order bids to each other and to the base bids such that pending changes in one change order are visible in a different change order bid. This allows construction professionals to automatically determine the building condition quantity differences for a new change order, keep track of various change orders and their status, and quickly determine conflicts between various change orders.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 11, 2012Publication date: January 16, 2014Applicant: On Center Software, Inc.Inventor: Leonard Buzz

Publication number: 20130218780Abstract: A method for tracking progress of a construction project comprising storing digital representations of construction drawings and storing information about material costs and amounts of labor needed to build each condition assembly in the drawing. Once the construction project begins, the method allows for a user to enter real time information about status of completion of work on each labor cost code for a selected area and the amount of labor and materials used to achieve that. The program then calculates the percentage of progress of work on each labor cost code, determines whether the labor cost code is on a projected budget and presents the results in color coded format on the drawing and/or on the list of labor cost codes.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 17, 2012Publication date: August 22, 2013Applicant: ON CENTER SOFTWARE, INC.Inventor: Leonard Buzz
