Abstract: A break away check valve that minimizes water hammer effect while closing and for use with a wet barrel fire hydrant and water main is provided. The valve includes a controllable resistance system that applies a desired resistance (dampening) to the valve's valve plates as the valve plates translate from an open position to a closed position. The resistance system includes a hydraulic piston with a tapered end that moves through an orifice filled with oil. As the increasing diameter of the piston moves into and passes through the orifice, the resistance to the piston increases. With the piston physically engaged with the valve plates, the valve plates are dampened accordingly.

Abstract: A gutter protection system configured for engagement with a rain gutter is provided. The gutter protection system includes a bracket configured for attachment to a first portion of the rain gutter. The bracket has a first arm and a second arm, each forming a channel. A base member has a first end configured for insertion into the channel formed by the first arm or the second arm of the bracket. The base member has an opposing second end configured for engagement with a second portion of the rain gutter. The base member further includes an intermediate segment extending from the first end to the second end. The intermediate segment includes a plurality of apertures. A permeable member is seated against an upper surface of the base member and is configured to facilitate the flow of water through the gutter protection system and into the rain gutter.

Abstract: A ballistic-resistant barrier assembly including an elongated barrier having a vertical portion including a substantially horizontal elongated top edge, and a ballistic-resistant device having a first ballistic-resistant panel including an elongated top edge, and an engagement portion affixed to the elongated top edge of the first ballistic-resistant panel, wherein the engagement portion of the ballistic-resistant device is disposed adjacent the elongated top edge of the barrier so that the first ballistic-resistant panel is disposed in a vertical orientation adjacent the vertical portion of the barrier.

The apparatus includes an upper U-shaped platform, a lower U-shaped platform, an inner curved wall, an outer curved wall, a main fastener, a supplement reservoir, at least one inlet, and a plurality of outlets. The upper U-shaped platform and the lower U-shaped platform protects the teeth. The inner curved wall and the outer curved wall protects the tongue and the inner walls of the cheeks of the user. The main fastener connects the upper U-shaped platform with the lower U-shaped platform and seals the at least one inlet. The supplement reservoir contains the desired supplement. The at least one inlet provides access into the supplement reservoir. The plurality of outlets distributes the supplement into the mouth of the user.

Abstract: A urine splatter suppression device and related method are provided. The device can include a base that engages a rim of a toilet, an arm including a corresponding recess and/or projection that engages a base recess and/or a base projection so that the arm is removably supported by the base adjacent the rim, and a deflection plate is joined with the arm and angled between 60 degrees and 90 degrees inclusive relative to the arm and extending transversely inward toward the longitudinal axis of the toilet from the side rim of the toilet. Multiple fingers can extend upward from the deflection plate. The device can be configured so a stream of liquid impinging the plate and/or fingers from above the toilet is dissipated to impair splatter of the stream to an area outside the toilet. A related method of use also is provided.

The apparatus may additionally include an annular base support member having a circumference equal to or larger than the intermediate support. The apparatus may still further include a second portion between the intermediate support member and the base support member. The apparatus may also further include at least three vertical members each peripherally connected to the apex support member, the first portion, the intermediate support member, the second portion, and base support member such that the vertical members surround a longitudinal axis.

Abstract: A fully rotatable guard assembly (200) for use with a tool having a rotating disc includes at least one rotatable bearing (215, 223) for positioning on a shaft behind a rotating disc (207). A shield (203) works with the rotatable bearing (215, 223) for preventing sparks or other debris from being projected toward a user. A brake lever (241) is attached to the shield (203) for allowing the user to position the shield (203) at a predetermined position in relation to the rotating disc. The shield (203) is configured to cover approximately one-half (½) of the rotating disc (207) such that the position of the shield (203) can be easily rotated through use of the brake lever (241) for enabling the user to move the shield (203) such that the rotating disc (207) can access a workpiece.

The liner panel is configured to absorb abrasive forces caused by crop cuttings moving across an inner surface of the transition cone. The liner panel includes an upper edge having a length. A lower edge is positioned opposite the upper edge and has a length that is smaller than the length of the upper edge. Opposing side edges are connected to the upper edge and lower edge. The upper edge, lower edge and opposing edges cooperate such that the liner panel has a tapered shape.
