Abstract: A method and system for estimation of inertial sensor errors is provided. The method includes receiving first inertial output data from a master inertial measurement unit (IMU) mounted on a host platform, with the first inertial output data comprising a change in velocity (delta V) and a change in angle (delta theta), and receiving second inertial output data from a remote IMU mounted on the host platform at a predetermined fixed distance from the master IMU, with the second inertial output data comprising a delta V and a delta theta. The first inertial output data is compared with the second inertial output data to determine a difference between the delta V of the first inertial output data and the delta V of the second inertial output data, and to determine a difference between the delta theta of the first inertial output data and the delta theta of the second inertial output data. The determined differences are applied to estimate inertial sensor errors in the remote IMU.

Abstract: A water heater may be configured to temporarily increase its hot water capacity by heating water to a higher boost temperature. In some instances, the water heater may include a main controller that can accept a boost request from a remote controller, and thus may temporarily provide additional hot water capacity without, for example, requiring a homeowner to go down to the basement, out to the garage, or wherever the water heater happens to be to make manual adjustments to the water heater settings.
Abstract: One aspect of the present invention provides a poke-through assembly for installation in a hole in a floor structure. The floor structure defines a floor in a first working environment and a ceiling in a second working environment. The poke-through assembly includes at least one intumescent member, a base plate and an intumescent enclosure. The intumescent member is disposed at least partially between the floor of the first working environment and the ceiling of the second working environment. The base plate supports and is disposed below the intumescent member for limiting the expansion of the intumescent member toward or into the second working environment. The intumescent cover supports the intumescent member and circumferentially surrounds at least a portion of the intumescent member, wherein expansion of the intumescent member is impeded by the cover.
Abstract: Methods and systems for improving frequency estimation without increasing digital counter resolution. An example system mixes and filters a known carrier signal with the signal containing the frequency of interest, in order to bring the frequency domain image closer to baseband, and then performs the frequency estimation. This allows much better resolution without the need to increase the counter frequency.

Abstract: A method for combining range information with an optical image is provided. The method includes capturing a first optical image of a scene with an optical camera, wherein the first optical image comprising a plurality of pixels. Additionally, range information of the scene is captured with a ranging device. Range values are then determined for at least a portion of the plurality of pixels of the first optical image based on the range information. The range values and the optical image are combined to produce a 3-dimensional (3D) point cloud. A second optical image of the scene from a different perspective than the first optical image is produced based on the 3D point cloud.
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to a methodology of maintaining correlated colour temperature (CCT) of light beam from lighting means by having a processing means to instruct several lighting means groups, wherein each group has different CCT ranges, that are arranged together, to provide light beam of intended CCT, if the CCT of light beam from the lighting means that are reflected back using reflecting means, which are captured and converted to binary data by the sensory means are different from the intended CCT.

Abstract: An inventory control system for a digital signage network is provided that uses a denormalized relational database to maintain a record of each of a plurality of screen zones for displays of the network. An inventory column in the database may be used to track scheduling assignments for each day of a calendar year. A screen zone may be given a collective duration limit that prevents assignment of media content items to that screen zone if the assignment would cause the limit to be exceeded for any of the days in the scheduling request. A screen zone may also be designated as overbookable to allow a scheduling assignment even if the limit is exceeded, or may be designated as partially bookable to allow the assignment of media content items for only those days specified in the request for which the limit would not be exceeded.
