Abstract: Current physical resources utilization of a computing system as a whole is monitored. The number of queries concurrently being executed against a database by a database management system (DBMS) running on a computing system is monitored. A query plan for a received query to be executed against the database is generated. The query plan includes operators; the generation of the query plan includes generation of query-based statistics for the received query on a per-operator basis without consideration of the queries concurrently being executed. An estimated execution time of the received query is dynamically predicted using a machine-learning model based on the query-based statistics generated for the received query on the per-operator basis, the current physical resources utilization of the computing system, and the number of queries concurrently being executed. The received query is executed against the database based on the dynamically predicted estimated execution time for the received query.

Abstract: Various examples are provided for flat lens antennas and their operation. In one example, among others, an antenna includes electrically thin (W<<?high), highly conducting, TEM mode antenna arms fed at a first end by a balun. The TEM mode antenna arms can be embedded in a spatially varied anisotropic dielectric material. A separation between the TEM mode antenna arms can increase from the first end to a second end where the TEM mode antenna arms transition to resistive card (Rcard) terminations when the TEM mode antenna arms are separated by a distance Hr, where a ratio of Hr to a height (H) of the antenna is in a range from about 0.2 to about 0.8.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus, and computer readable media related to determining that no resources responsive to a query of a user at a first time satisfy one or more criteria (e.g., one or more quality criteria) and, in response to such a determination: providing for presentation to the user at a later time, content that is based on a given resource that is responsive to the query at the later time and that satisfies the criteria. The given resource that is responsive to the query at the later time may be a resource that is in addition to any resources responsive to the query at the first time or may be a refined version of a resource that was responsive to the query at the first time.
Abstract: A docker image is received. The docker image is for a container. The container contains files that allow for virtualization of applications that run within the container. The docker image is parsed to identify layer files in the docker image. Installed software components (e.g., installed files) and/or hardware components in the layer files are identified. Software application index calls are made to generate information that identifies relationships between the installed software components and/or hardware components. The relationships between the installed software components and/or hardware components are then displayed to a user.
Abstract: A method for automated assignment of a staging pad to an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) includes: launching the UAV from a launch location; tracking a drift of the UAV from the launch location; determining a subsequent position of the UAV after the launching based upon geofiducial navigation; calculating an estimated position of the launch location by offsetting the subsequent position by the drift; attempting to match the estimated position to an available staging pad of a plurality of staging pads; and assigning the UAV to the available staging pad when the estimated position successfully matches to the available staging pad.

Abstract: An artificial-intelligence-directed social network extender for existing employees and recruiters which increases the pool of available candidates for an employer while also maximizing the effectiveness of candidate selection. In an embodiment, a recruiting manager extends the social networks of employees and recruiters to maximize the available pool of candidates for a given job opening. A first machine learning algorithm provides instructions to a crawler to gather both candidate information from the extended social network, plus corporate structure information from the Internet for privacy and conflict checking purposes. The gathered information is stored in a knowledge graph which is analyzed by a second machine learning algorithm to identify candidates and relationships most likely to produce a good fit for the job opening.
