Abstract: Motorized window treatment systems are disclosed. A motorized window treatment system may include a covering material, a sensor circuit, and a control circuit. The sensor circuit may be configured to generate sensor signals indicative of a position of the covering material. The control circuit may be configured to determine a present sensor state of the sensor circuit, determine a predicted sensor state for the sensor circuit based at least in part on a power-down position recorded at a first time and a final position recorded at a second time, compare the predicted sensor state with the present sensor state, and determine a present position of the covering material based on the comparison of the predicted sensor state and the present sensor state. Methods of adjusting a position of a covering material of a motorized window treatment also are disclosed.
Abstract: A bat comprises a handle section, a barrel section and a tapered section between the handle section and the barrel section. In some embodiments, the tapered section comprises discrete zones that increase in diameter from the handle section to the barrel section of the bat. In some embodiments, the tapered section comprises six discrete zones. In some embodiments, the discrete zones are one-inch in length.
Abstract: A breathing air laboratory on location gas sample test and data collecting system and method, at a remote breathing air provider's facility, that includes an air compressor, for remotely testing, collecting, and monitoring the quality and purity of the breathing air being produced at the provider's facility, that allows an accredited independent monitoring, testing, and analyzing facility to provide breathing air validation and certification to a cloud-based air quality test and analysis account belonging to the breathing air provider facility at any time. The system includes redundant gas sample air sensors for O2 and CO to ensure quality and accuracy in the breathing air test and data collection, and analysis and a “canary” gas sample test module securely mounted in a laboratory chassis, but manually swappable, to ensure credibility and accuracy of the sensors being used to test gas/air samples.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes a method, a system, and a computer program product of indicating a status of an analytical instrument on a screen of the analytical instrument. In an embodiment, the method, the system, and the computer program product include receiving data from an analytical instrument monitoring a liquid sample, segmenting the received data into data segments for at least two characteristics of at least one of the instrument, the sample, and an operating environment of the instrument, analyzing each of the data segments for the at least two characteristics, retrieving threshold values for the at least two characteristics from a computer data source, calculating at least one status of at least one of the instrument, the sample, and the operating environment, with respect to the analyzed data segments and the threshold values, and displaying the at least one status on a display of the instrument.

Abstract: A storage device for booting a host computing device includes a first storage memory region having a first storage memory controller, a second storage memory region having a second storage memory controller, and a resilient boot controller. Abstract: A mounting device or clamp is provided that can be secured to a roof joint without damaging the roof joint. Two roof panels can be joined at a roof joint that extends away from the roof. The clamp has a body with a slot to receive the roof joint. An insert of the clamp is rotatable relative to the body from a first position to a second position. The clamp body can be positioned over the roof joint, and the insert can rotate or pivot from the first position to the second position relative to the body to secure the clamp to the roof joint. In one embodiment, a body of the clamp has a first arm that is concave and the insert has a concave portion to engage the roof joint. Alternatively, in another embodiment, the insert can be connected to the clamp body such that either a first projection or a second projection of the insert faces a roof joint.

Abstract: Approaches for manufacturing an applicator and corresponding applicators for applying a cosmetic substance are provided that may include forming an applicator body, an applicator head, and a detachable shield. The applicator body includes a first end and a second end. The applicator head is operably coupled with the first end of the applicator body and includes an outer surface. The detachable shield being removably coupled with the applicator head. The outer surface of the applicator head is segmented into an exposed portion outside of the detachable shield and a shielded portion within the detachable shield. The approach further includes applying a surface treatment to the outer surface of the applicator head and removing the detachable shield from the applicator head. Upon removing the detachable shield, the shielded portion is free of the surface treatment.
Abstract: A three-dimensional memory device includes an alternating stack of insulating layers and electrically conductive layers, memory openings extending through the alternating stack, and memory opening fill structures located in the memory openings and containing a respective vertical semiconductor channel and a respective memory film. Each of the electrically conductive layers includes a tubular metallic liner in contact with a respective outer sidewall segment of a respective one of the memory opening fill structures, an electrically conductive barrier layer contacting the respective tubular metallic liner and two of the insulating layers, and a metallic fill material layer contacting the electrically conductive barrier layer, and not contacting the tubular metallic liner or any of the insulating layers. The memory opening fill structures are formed after performing a halogen outgassing anneal through the memory openings to reduce or eliminate the halogen outgassing damage in the layers of the memory film.
Abstract: A computer, including a processor and a memory, the memory including instructions to be executed by the processor to acquire a first image with a visible and NIR light camera and acquire a second image with an infrared camera. The instructions can include further instructions to determine whether the second image includes a live human face by comparing a first infrared profile included in the second image with second infrared profile included in a previously acquired third image acquired with the infrared camera; and when the second image includes the live human face, output the first image.
