Abstract: An integrated fastener includes a threaded portion, a fastener head, and one or more spring fingers integrated into the fastener head, wherein the spring fingers are configured to apply a compressive load when the fastener is inserted and secured to a receiving assembly.
Abstract: Environment type validation can provide a tamper-resistant validation of the computing environment within which the environment type validation is being performed. Such information can then be utilized to perform policy management, which can include omitting verifications in order to facilitate the sharing of policy, such as application licenses, from a host computing environment into a container virtual computing environment. The environment type validation can perform multiple checks, including verification of the encryption infrastructure of the computing environment, verification of code integrity mechanisms of that computing environment, checks for the presence of functionality evidencing a hypervisor, checks for the presence or absence of predetermined system drivers, or other like operating system components or functionality, checks for the activation or deactivation of resource management stacks, and checks for the presence or absence of predetermined values in firmware.

Abstract: A 3D conversation system can facilitate 3D conversations in an augmented reality environment, allowing conversation participants to appear as if they are face-to-face. The 3D conversation system can accomplish this with a pipeline of data processing stages, which can include calibrate, capture, tag and filter, compress, decompress, reconstruct, render, and display stages. Generally, the pipeline can capture images of the sending user, create intermediate representations, transform the representations to convert from the orientation the images were taken from to a viewpoint of the receiving user, and output images of the sending user, from the viewpoint of the receiving user, in synchronization with audio captured from the sending user. Such a 3D conversation can take place between two or more sender/receiving systems and, in some implementations can be mediated by one or more server systems. In various configurations, stages of the pipeline can be customized based on a conversation context.
Abstract: In example embodiments, computing systems may be configured to create, transmit, receive, store, and execute an active data executable comprising (i) a representation of given data content that is combined with (ii) an executable kernel that, when executed, causes the given data content to be extracted in a user-specified data format and provided to a user-specified destination location for storage.
Abstract: Implementations of semiconductor packages may include a first substrate coupled to a first die, a second substrate coupled to a second die, and a spacer included within a perimeter of the first substrate and within a perimeter of a second substrate, the spacer coupled between the first die and the second die, the spacer include a junction cooling pipe therethrough.
Abstract: Prior to associating with a wireless network, a wireless device receives from a network access point, a message containing information identifying (i) identity of the network and (ii) network policies; retrieves the information from the message; based on the network identity, determines whether a network attributes record for the network already exists in the device. If not, the device creates a temporary network attributes record for the network. Based on the network policies, the device attempts to associate to and authenticate the network. After successfully associating to and authenticating the network, the device determines whether the network attributes record for the network has expired. If not, the device renews the network attributes record and implements the network policies stored in the network attributes record If the network attributes record has expired, then the device deletes the network attributes record and implements default network policies for the wireless network.
Abstract: A secure storage module of a client device interacts with a set of secure storage servers to securely store data items of the client on the servers, such that no individual server has the data in readable (non-obfuscated) form. Additionally, the client secure storage module and the servers interact to allow the client device to read a given portion of the original data items from the servers, such that none of the servers can determine which portion of the original data is being requested. Similarly, the interactions of the client secure storage module and the servers allows the client device to update a given portion of the original data on the servers to a new value, such that none of the servers can determine which portion is being updated and that none of the servers can determine either the prior value or new value or the difference between the new value and the prior value.

Abstract: Technology is disclosed for a non-volatile memory system that decouples dataload from program execution. A memory controller transfers data for a program operation and issues a first type of program execution command. When in a coupled mode, the die programs the data in response to the first type of program execution command. When in a decoupled mode, rather than program the data into non-volatile memory cells the die enters a wait state. Optionally, the memory controller can instruct another die to execute a memory operation while the first die is in the wait state. In response to receiving a second type of program execution command from the memory controller when in the wait state, the first die will program the data into non-volatile memory cells. The memory controller may issue the second type of program execution command in response to determining that sufficient power resources (or thermal budget) exist.
Abstract: Mobile battery powered workstation carts for order fulfillment are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a battery powered workstation cart may comprise a wheeled cart having a frame, a rechargeable lithium battery, a computer, a barcode reader/scanner, a RFID reader/scanner, a printer, an artificial intelligence hub, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), and/or GPS. The frame may also comprise two side bracket arms and/or shelves, which may be modular to receive various different sized baskets, bins, or totes therein to expedite retail order fulfillment.

Abstract: Various embodiments include combined lens and safety enclosure apparatuses and methods for forming the apparatuses. In one example a combined lens and safety enclosure apparatus for a light-emitting diode (LED) module is disclosed. The enclosure apparatus includes at least one plastic-material-based optical-lens element mounted over a plurality of LED elements, where a distance between the optical-lens element and any portion of any one of the plurality of LED elements is spaced away from each other by at least 0.8 mm. A driver-on-board (DoB) subsystem, including an electronic circuit configured to provide power to the plurality of LED elements, has a plastic-material-based optical enclosure mounted over the DoB subsystem. A distance between the optical enclosure and any portion of any of the electronic circuit is spaced away from optical enclosure by at least 0.8 mm. Other devices and methods are described.

Abstract: Technologies for on-device experimentation include embodiments that receive a request to provide digital content for display in a slot of a user interface display screen of a first device. By a secure execution environment, an identifier received with the request is anonymized. The request is determined to be associated with a content distribution test. The anonymized identifier is assigned to a test group associated with the content distribution test. The secure execution environment receives user interface event data generated by the first device in response to the content distribution test. The received user interface event data is attributed to the test group. An association of the user interface event data with the test group and the content distribution test is provided by the secure execution environment to a second device different than the first device while the identifier and the anonymized identifier are not provided to the second device.

Abstract: A near-eye display apparatus comprises a spatial light modulator illuminated by a directional backlight and a magnifying lens arranged to provide a magnified wide field of view image to an eye of a user. The directional backlight comprises an array of light sources and a stepped waveguide comprising a curved reflective end. Light propagates along the waveguide without loss and is reflected from the reflective end. The steps of the waveguide are arranged to provide a virtual optical window for each light source. The magnifying lens images the virtual optical window to a real pupil window in an eyebox. The real pupil window may be steered in response to the measured location of the user's pupil. High illumination efficiency is provided to the user in a thin form factor.
