Abstract: System and method for the optimized production of hydrocarbons from shale oil reservoirs via cyclic injection to achieve an improved and optimal recovery of oil. The method can determine and optimize the composition of injected fluids to be injected, the rate, pressure and duration of injection, the production rate and pressure of produced fluids; can determine and utilize the optimum number of injection and production cycles; can determine the amount of soaking time (if any); and can determine the equipment design and operating characteristics to provide for the optimized injection of injection fluids, and the separation of produced fluids for both reinjection and delivery to sales or storage.

Abstract: A vehicle having a tailgate configured to move between retracted and extended positions is disclosed. The vehicle includes a first detection unit, a second detection unit, a third detection unit and a control unit. The control unit obtains a first input from the first detection unit and determines whether the tailgate is in extended position. The control unit further obtains a second input and a third input from the second and third detection units respectively, when the tailgate is in the extended position. Responsive to obtaining the second and third inputs, the control unit identifies a tailgate extended orientation. In addition, the control unit detects an obstacle presence in a vehicle rear side proximity and calculates a calibrated distance between the obstacle and a tailgate top side, based on the tailgate extended orientation. The control unit notifies a vehicle user when the calibrated distance is less than a threshold.

Abstract: A fingerprint sensor of a contactless card may receive input. A processor of the contactless card may compare the input to a fingerprint template stored in a memory of the contactless card. The processor may determine that the comparison results in a match and enable a near-field communication (NFC) antenna of the contactless card based on the determination that the comparison results in the match.

Abstract: A device may be configured to process messages from a plurality of input devices. The messages may be received on a first communication link and may be processed for being transmitted on a second communication link. The device may receive messages comprising data on the first communication link from the plurality of input devices. The data from the input devices may be aggregated and transmitted in at least one message on the second communication link.

Abstract: An article comprises a tube and at least one thermoplastic pouch inserted within the tube wherein the tube comprises an upper section, a lower section, an inner section and an outer section, the tube comprises an inner layer and an outer layer, the inner layer being a permeable membrane that is permeable to vapors but impermeable to liquids and the outer layer being a nonwoven fabric, a microporous film, an SMS sheet or an SMMS sheet. In the central area of the upper section 13 and/or the lower section 14 of the tube, at least one slot is cut into the outer layer 18 to reveal the inner layer 17, the slot extending at least partially along the tube length L, the pouch is located within the tube such that it contacts the lower and inner sections of the tube and the pouch contains a foamable composition.

Abstract: In some examples, matrix based bot implementation may include obtaining, for a plurality of bots that are used to respond to a query, a matrix that includes entries including a plurality of scenarios, a plurality of questions corresponding to the plurality of scenarios, and a plurality of responses. Each response may correspond to a specified question. A plurality of scripts may be generated based on an analysis of the matrix. Each script may include at least one question followed by at least one response, and further followed by at least one scenario. For each script, a closest pre-existing script may be identified based on a comparison of the script to pre-existing scripts. For each script, a modification to the matrix may be generated based on a difference in the script from the closest pre-existing script. The bots may be utilized to respond to the query based on the modified matrix.

Abstract: A method of producing leached compost casing may include washing compost to remove nutrients from the compost, drying the compost and using the compost as casing to grow plants. In some applications the compost may be pasteurized or sterilized while it is being leached.

Abstract: A break-away wrist strap for a ski pole or the like. The wrist strap is comprised of a strap or cord material with a clip for attaching to the pole and a buckle for adjustment. The buckle allows adjustment of the size of a loop portion into which the user's hand is placed, and also allows adjustment of an extension portion which extends from the loop portion to the clip. The clip is configured to attach to a standard size pole below the main hand grip, and is designed to detach from the pole when a tensile force above a threshold amount is applied. The break-away feature improves safety of the wrist strap, allows the wrist strap to be used with existing poles, and allows the wrist strap to be removed when not needed. A storage clip for stowing the wrist strap against the pole is also provided.

A first earbud, can include a first speaker, a first processing system, and a first wireless communication interface, that communicates with an audio source device using Bluetooth communications. A second earbud can include a second speaker, a second processing system, and a second wireless communication interface, that communicates with the audio source device and the first earbud using Bluetooth communications. The first earbud and the second earbud may be configured to wirelessly communicate with each other following completion of a first connected isochronous stream (CIS) event for the first earbud and second CIS event for the second earbud within a connected isochronous group (CIG) event.

Abstract: A theft detection system for a vehicle is provided. The theft detection system includes a hybrid wireless tire sensor (HWTS) coupled to an interior of a tire of the vehicle, a processor, and a memory. The memory has instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to perform operations including detecting a change in voltage across the HWTS responsive to a change in deformation of the tire, and determining, based on the change in deformation of the tire, if a theft is occurring.

Abstract: Various arrangements for short-range wireless communication between audio output devices, such as true wireless earbuds, are presented herein. A first earbud of a pair of earbuds may determine that a first audio packet addressed to the first earbud from an audio source was not properly received. However, a second earbud of the pair of earbuds may properly receive the first audio packet addressed to the first earbud. The second earbud can then, directly to the first earbud, transmit a cross acknowledgement indicating that the second earbud properly received the audio packet.

Abstract: In exemplary embodiments, methods and systems are provided that include: sensors configured to obtain sensor data for a vehicle having both friction braking and regenerative braking capabilities and coupled to a trailer, the sensor data including: friction braking data as to a vehicle friction braking force for the vehicle; and regenerative braking sensor data as to a vehicle regenerative braking force for the vehicle; and a processor coupled to the sensors and configured to at least facilitate controlling braking of the trailer by providing trailer braking force, via instructions provided by the processor, based on both the friction braking data and the regenerative braking sensor data, with a sensitivity toward the vehicle regenerative braking force such that the trailer braking force is affected differently by the vehicle regenerative braking force versus the vehicle friction braking force.

Abstract: The present disclosure includes methods and compositions for improving leaf quality in low-alkaloid tobacco plants, e.g., by combining inducible promoters and non-coding RNAs for suppression of an ornithine decarboxylase (ODC) gene. Also provided are low alkaloid tobacco plants with normal, suppressed, or otherwise altered polyamine levels. Further provided are tobacco plants with altered total alkaloid, nicotine levels, commercially acceptable leaf grade, their development via breeding or transgenic approaches, and production of tobacco products from these tobacco plants.

Abstract: A circular dome for photographing vehicles includes curved frames that support a skin. Contoured walls offset from the curved frames to define a recess adapted to receive cameras and lights for photographing vehicles around a perimeter of the dome. A door matching the contour of the curved frames completes the dome and is size to receive a vehicle, to collectively implement subtractive lighting along the perimeter of the dome. A system and method are provided for automatically photographing vehicles in an enclosable circular domed structure where an automated process captures a series of vehicle images and uploads the captured images to a web template for display and recordation.

Abstract: A cold pack includes a sealed package containing liquid portion and a support structure, with the liquid portion formed of water and menthol isopropyl alcohol in a 4:1 ratio. The support structure is open-cell foam containing interconnected volumes retaining the liquid portion, with cells connected to one another by ligaments. A pack system supports one or more cold packs in pouches for application to a target. Pouches include an insulating layer and a mesh layer that sandwich two large sides of the cold packs, with the mesh layer adjacent to the target, and the insulating layer exposed to the environment. The mesh layer and the insulating layer have a high ratio of thermal conductivity. The pack system includes a waist strap for applying cooling to a human back or a rectangular form for forming into a cylinder-type shape for applying cooling to a horse's leg.

Abstract: A linear lighting device may include an elongated housing that defines a cavity. The linear lighting device may include plurality of emitter printed circuit boards configured to be received within the cavity. Each of the plurality of emitter printed circuit boards may include a plurality of emitter modules mounted thereto. Each of the plurality of emitter printed circuit boards may include a control circuit configured to control the plurality of emitter modules mounted to the respective emitter printed circuit board based on receipt of one or more messages. The linear lighting device may include a total internal reflection lens for each of the plurality of emitter printed circuit boards. The total internal reflection lens may be configured to diffuse light emitted by the emitter modules of the plurality of emitter printed circuit boards.

Abstract: A dissolution system includes a dissolution line and a bypass line. The dissolution line fluidly couples a biocontainer, a pump, a cartridge, an upstream filter, and a downstream filter in a circulation loop. The bypass line is in fluid communication with the dissolution line at an upstream junction and a downstream junction such that the bypass line is in parallel relationship with the cartridge. A flow control system is configured to control the flow of fluid through the cartridge such that the flow of fluid through at least one of the dissolution line and the bypass line is selectively controlled based upon a pressure in the dissolution line downstream of the cartridge between the cartridge and the biocontainer.

Abstract: A bolt assembly for securing a passive door panel relative to an entryway frame. The bolt assembly has a base to be fixedly mounted relative to the passive door panel, a catch attached to the base with a leaf spring to deflect relative to the base, and a bolt which is able to translate relative to the base between a retracted position and an extended position for securing the passive door panel. The bolt is biased toward the extended position and selectively maintained in the retracted position by the catch.

Abstract: A method for determining biomechanical parameters of the stride of a runner, using an accelerometer device on the wrist, on the upper arm, on the head or on the shoe, comprising the steps of measuring an initial sequence of acceleration data in at least the vertical direction using said accelerometer device; identifying in said initial sequence of acceleration data at least one frequency component caused by relative motion of the accelerometer device relative to the runner center of masse; attenuating said frequency component, so as to determine a modified sequence of acceleration data; determining said biomechanical parameters from said modified sequence of acceleration data.
