Abstract: The purpose of the present invention is to provide a vehicle control technique that enables the safety of function substitution to be increased. This vehicle control device determines whether a substitution was successful by monitoring the operations which follow initiation of the substitution.

Abstract: The present invention relates to systems and methods for adaptively optimizing broadband reference spectra for a multi-spectral image or adaptively optimizing reference colors for a bright-field image. The methods and systems of the present invention involve optimization techniques that are based on structures detected in an unmixed channel of the image, and involves detecting and segmenting structures from a channel, updating a reference matrix with signals estimated from the structures, subsequently unmixing the image using the updated reference matrix, and iteratively repeating the process until an optimized reference matrix is achieved.
Abstract: During power running operation of a load, a control unit turns off a switch unit to supply AC power from an uninterruptible power supply unit to the load. During regenerative operation of the load, in a case where an AC power supply can recover regenerative power, the control unit turns off the switch unit to supply the regenerative power to the AC power supply via the uninterruptible power supply unit. In contrast, in a case where the AC power supply cannot recover the regenerative power, the control unit turns on the switch unit to cause an auxiliary load unit to consume the regenerative power.

Abstract: Methods for obtain identifiers, such as International Mobile Subscriber Identities (IMSIs) and International Mobile Station Equipment Identities (IMEIs), of mobile communication terminals, and associate these identifiers with other items of identifying information provided by users of the terminals. A local interrogation device may be installed that imitates a legitimate base station belonging to a cellular network, at a control checkpoint. Local interrogation devices are connected to a global interrogation device in a hierarchical network, whereby the local interrogation devices are assigned a priority that is higher than that of the global interrogation device. The global interrogation device provides cellular coverage to a larger area that contains the control checkpoints, while the local interrogation devices provide more localized cellular coverage to the control checkpoints.

Abstract: A method and system for detecting postage fraud using an indexed lookup procedure is provided. The method includes generating, at a postage-issuing computer system, a unique postage indicium associated with a unique tracking number allocated to a postage transaction. The unique tracking number provides a mail piece tracking capability within the United States Postal Service (USPS). The method further includes indexing the postage transaction with the unique tracking number; and receiving, at the postage-issuing computer system, a request to validate a printed postage indicium carried on a mail piece received at the USPS. The request includes a tracking number identified from information further carried on the mail piece. The method also includes returning, to the USPS and in response to the request, a determination indicating whether the tracking number in the request matches any records stored in a transaction database.
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a small-sized and highly heat-dissipative reactor and a DC-DC converter using the reactor. A reactor according to the present invention includes a plate bus bar, a core, and a heat sink. The core includes a middle leg portion. The heat sink cools the plate bus bar. The plate bus bar is formed such that a winding axis of a winding including the plate bus bar passes through the middle leg portion. A main surface of the plate bus bar is disposed in parallel with a direction of the winding axis and thermally connected to the heat sink via an insulating layer.
Abstract: A vehicle, comprising: pressure detection means; vehicle stabilizing means; means for receiving an input from the pressure detection means, in response to the pressure detection means detecting an increase in pressure caused by an explosion; and control means for controlling, in response to reception of the input from the pressure detecting means, the vehicle stabilizing means to apply a force to the vehicle, in order to stabilize the vehicle in response to the explosion.

Abstract: A landing system for controlling operation of an aerial vehicle flying a final approach to a runway includes a computing device and a LIDAR scanner. The device obtains a first data set indicative of a reference flight path for the final approach. The first data set includes a time-of-flight measurement for each light beam of a first plurality of light beams emitted prior to the aerial vehicle flying the final approach. The device determines an actual flight path for the final approach based, at least in part, on a second data set comprising a time-of-flight measurement for each light beam of a second plurality of light beams emitted from the light source of the LIDAR scanner. Based on the first and second data sets, the device determines the actual flight path deviates from the reference flight path and generates a control action to adjust operation of the aerial vehicle.
Abstract: The present specification describes a scanning/inspection system configured as a dual-view system using dual-energy sensitive stacked detectors that are partially populated with multi-energy discriminating detectors for overall enhanced energy resolution and therefore improved discrimination of materials through better estimation of material physical properties such as density and effective atomic number.
Abstract: The system and method of dynamic weapon to target assignment (DWTA) using a control based methodology to dynamically assign each projectile to a target in a multiple target engagement situation. In some cases, closest proximity is used in a real-time, to accomplish the DWTA functional requirement and performance criteria. In some cases, g pulling acceleration and projectile fin deflection motion are also used to assess the best matched pair for each projectile and each target with an end goal of intercepting the target or guiding the projectile to an acceptable error basket for target destruction via detonation. For the closest distance criterion for projectile/target pairing, a cutoff time is used to ensure the pairing is conducted within an acceptable duration while still being able to intercept the target or meet a required miss distance basket (e.g., <3 m).

Abstract: An analytical method for precipitated particles using a co-precipitation reaction in includes feeding streams and a tracking metal into a reaction vessel; collecting a precipitated product containing the tracking metal from the reaction vessel in increments of time to obtain product samples; filtering each collected product sample to separate precipitated particles from filtrate; and performing elemental analysis for the tracking metal in the precipitated particles of each collected product sample and measuring a concentration of the tracking metal in the precipitated particles, to obtain a residence time distribution of the precipitated particles in the reaction vessel according to the concentration of the tracking metal in the precipitated particles. Therefore the preferred residence time of the precipitated particles in the reaction vessel can be ascertained, so that it is clear when the precipitated particles should be collected from the reaction vessel.

Abstract: The event management system described is capable of aligning controlled content in a controlled content repository to properties of an event, e.g., event type, event topic, geographic location and product involved. When a user creates an event, controlled content associated with the event properties may be displayed so that the user may choose proper content for the event. When event content is updated in the controlled content repository, the latest version is pushed to the speaker so that only the latest version of the controlled content can be shared. Content displayed during a webinar and attendee participation data for the webinar may be tracked and stored in a CRM system.
