  • Patent number: 10762036
Abstract: A system for archiving data objects using secondary copies is disclosed. The system creates one or more secondary copies of primary copy data that contains multiple data objects. The system maintains a first data structure that tracks the data objects for which the system has created secondary copies and the locations of the secondary copies. To archive data objects in the primary copy data, the system identifies data objects to be archived, verifies that previously-created secondary copies of the identified data objects exist, and replaces the identified data objects with stubs. The system maintains a second data structure that both tracks the stubs and refers to the first data structure, thereby creating an association between the stubs and the locations of the secondary copies.

  • Patent number: 10763716
Abstract: An axial-air-gap rotating electric machine with a stator bobbin is provided. The bobbin renders the respective turn counts of windings in the machine the same and minimizes the lengths of connecting wires between continuous windings regardless of the continuous turn count, the direction in which each winding is wound, and whether the number of stages is odd or even. The bobbin, which has a tubular shape that substantially matches the exterior shape of a core, is provided with flanges that extend outwards from near the respective openings in the bobbin. One of the flanges has two first notches, and the other flange has a second notch. The axial positions of the starting and finishing ends of coils on adjacent stator cores are the same, and the flanges containing the notches through which the ends of the coils are run are on the same side with respect to the openings.

  • Patent number: 10758824
Abstract: A virtual reality system comprising a headset, a primary battery, a secondary battery (provides backup power), an output device which displays a 3-D virtual world (VW) based on the orientation and position of the headset. Swapping of the primary battery with a physical battery is viewed in the (VW) using virtual counterparts of the primary battery and the secondary battery in an output device in the headset. A user physically swaps the batteries while “seeing” the swapping taking place in the VW. The locations the user sees (through the headset) the primary battery and secondary battery correspond to their locations in the real world relative to the headset so that while the user physically feels (with his/her hands) the primary battery and the secondary battery the locations of the primary battery and the secondary battery in the VW correspond to what the user feels so that the swapping feels “real.

  • Patent number: 10760132
Abstract: The present invention relates to methods and compositions for diagnosing prostate cancer and/or determining whether a prostate cancer patient is at increased risk of suffering a relapse, or a rapid relapse, of his cancer. It is based, at least in part, on the results of a comprehensive genome analysis on 241 prostate cancer samples (104 prostate cancer, 85 matched bloods, 49 matched benign prostate tissues adjacent to cancer, and 3 cell lines) which indicate that (i) genome copy number variation (CNV) occurred in both cancer and non-cancer tissues, and (ii) CNV predicts prostate cancer progression.

  • Patent number: 10761536
Abstract: Vehicle systems that implement action planning for a vehicle have had difficulty in maintaining safety in the event of a failure in a recognition device since these systems generate trajectories and control the vehicle on the basis of outside-world information recognized by recognition devices. The present invention was conceived in light of the aforementioned situation and addresses the problem of maintaining safety even in the event of a failure in a recognition device of a vehicle system. This problem can be solved by an action planning device having a failure detection unit for detecting a failure in an outside-world recognition unit and a trajectory generation/determination unit for executing an action on the occurrence of a failure on the basis of outside-world information outputted by the outside-world recognition unit, wherein the trajectory generation/determination unit takes an action for coping with the failure on the basis of failure information from the failure detection unit.

  • Patent number: 10761402
Abstract: In a device for generating output laser pulses having a tunable central wavelength, based on parametric amplification, a laser system is to be provided that has less complexity, but that nevertheless provides great tunability for the wavelength, permits rapid switching of the wavelength, and allows the spectral bandwidth of the emitted pulses to be adjusted. This is attained in that for adjustability of the bandwidth of the output laser pulses, an optical device is provided that is designed to influence the spectral phase of the pump pulses as a function of the spectral phase of the seed pulses.
