Patent number: 10691187Abstract: An application within a virtual machine is an iSCSI Initiator and is allowed to use as an iSCSI Target another virtual machine within the same hypervisor in order to make a persistent reservation for a virtual disk within a remotely-located storage platform. Any number of virtual machines within different hypervisors, and perhaps on different computers, use a local controller virtual machine to make a persistent reservation for the same virtual disk. The registration list and the current reservation holder data for an iSCSI persistent reservation for a particular virtual disk are held on a storage node of the storage platform rather than within a single virtual machine of a remote computer. A metadata module on the storage platform handles the incoming requests. A coordinator module within the storage platform uses a lock mechanism to guarantee that the reserve, release, preempt and clear commands are handled properly.Type: GrantFiled: February 12, 2019Date of Patent: June 23, 2020Assignee: Commvault Systems, Inc.Inventors: Avinash Lakshman, Abhijith Shenoy

Patent number: 10692017Abstract: Systems and methods for predictive document coding using continuous active machine learning are described herein. A method uses both a primary queue and a plurality of secondary queues, where each secondary queue is associated with a model for category of documents. The method also repeatedly classifies new batches selected from a large set of documents that have not been reviewed. The classification uses the plurality of models and updates the secondary queues from the best documents in the most recently classified batch. While the method transparently cycles through batches, the most relevant documents are provided to one or more human reviewers from secondary queues via a primary queue. The reviewer confirms relevance or non-relevance in each of the documents for each of the categories. Periodically all the models are retrained using the set of reviewed documents after a selectable number of documents have been reviewed since the most recent retraining.Type: GrantFiled: May 24, 2017Date of Patent: June 23, 2020Assignee: RINA SYSTEMS, LLCInventor: Terence M Carr

Patent number: 10694003Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods and systems for dynamically changing an advertised window for a transport layer connection. A device can receive data from a server destined for an application. The device identifies the size of the application buffer corresponding to the application and advertises the application buffer size as a window size to the server. The device stores the data in the device memory. The device then determines the memory usage by comparing the memory usage to one or more predetermined thresholds. If the device determines that the memory usage is below a first predetermined threshold, the device can implement an aggressive dynamic receive buffering policy in which the device increases the advertised window size by a first increment. If the device determines that the memory usage is above the first threshold and below a second threshold, the device executes a more conservative dynamic receive buffering policy.Type: GrantFiled: August 14, 2017Date of Patent: June 23, 2020Assignee: Citrix Systems, Inc.Inventors: Varun Taneja, Mahesh Mylarappa, Saravana Annamalaisami
