Abstract: The present invention relates to control of wind turbines where a fatigue load measure is taken into account. Control of a wind turbine is described where a control trajectory is calculated based on a fatigue load measure, the fatigue load measure being determined from a predicted operational trajectory. In embodiments the predicted operational trajectories are calculated by using a model predictive control (MPC) routine, and the fatigue load measure includes a rainflow count algorithm.

The relief valve seat, the relief valve, and the relief spring are arranged in this order beginning from the open end side.
Abstract: Described embodiments improve the performance of a computer network via optimization of connection redirection or redistribution based on link characteristics such as latency. In some implementations, a high priority connection may be initially established via an available link having a lowest latency or highest throughput. If the connection is not particularly latency-sensitive, then once the connection has ramped up to a highest throughput (e.g. largest congestion window size, etc.), the connection may be moved to a higher latency link, freeing the lower latency link for new connections to similarly ramp up throughput.
Abstract: Various techniques implement an electronic design with physical simulations using layout artwork. The approximate behaviors of the electronic design are determined. A region in the electronic design is identified. A first three-dimensional model is identified, if pre-existing, or generated, if non-existing, for the region in the electronic design. The behaviors of the region is determined using at least physics-based techniques or methodologies that are preconditioned upon at least a portion of the approximate behaviors determined for the electronic design.

The receiver(s) is adapted to receive different types of data on multiple different frequencies. A display, which may be integral with the system housing or remotely mounted, is adapted to display (i) information received by said receiver and/or (ii) information to guide user input selection of information transmitted by said transponder. The housing houses the transponder, the receiver and, in one embodiment, the display. The existing transponder in the aircraft can be removed thereby leaving an opening in the aircraft and the transponder installed in the opening.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods and systems for managing a guest virtual machine executing within a virtualized environment. A daemon is established on a guest virtual machine executing within a virtualized environment. The daemon is configured to communicate with a management service virtual machine executing within the virtualized environment. The daemon receives, from the management service virtual machine via an application layer protocol, a request identifying an action type of a plurality of predetermined action types. The daemon identifies the action type of the plurality of predetermined action types from the received request and performs an action corresponding to the identified action type. In some implementations, the application layer protocol is one of Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) or Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS).

Abstract: A system for actuating engine valves may include a valve bridge having a main event rocker interface portion, a first valve interface portion and a second valve interface portion extending in generally opposite directions from the main event rocker interface portion. The second valve interface portion may include an open end including a slot for receiving a bridge pin. The slot permits the valve bridge to be removed from the actuation system without removal of the main event rocker or other actuating components, such as an auxiliary rocker. The valve bridge can be removed from the valve train without requiring removal of other actuation system components, such as auxiliary rockers or main event rockers. A single valve bridge configuration can be used with different valve spans, which may occur among different cylinder sizes in a given engine family, or across different engine families.

The wash hood may include a housing containing a flow distributor such as a perforated member that facilitates uniform dispersing of fluid from the wash hood. The wash hood may include a fluid inlet for connection to a fluid source, such as water under pressure, and an outlet for dispersing or spraying the water towards the media to be cleaned.
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for processing and extracting content from an image captured using a mobile device. In one embodiment, an image is captured by a mobile device and corrected to improve the quality of the image. The corrected image is then further processed by adjusting the image, identifying the format and layout of the document, binarizing the image and extracting the content using optical character recognition (OCR). Multiple methods of image adjusting may be implemented to accurately assess features of the document, and a secondary layout identification process may be performed to ensure that the content being extracted is properly classified.
Abstract: Material flow amplifiers as disclosed herein overcome drawbacks associated with known adverse flow conditions (e.g., surface erosion and head losses) that arise from flow of certain types of materials (e.g., fluids, slurries, particulates, flowable aggregate, and the like) through a material flow conduit. Such material flow amplifiers provide for flow of flowable material within a flow passage of a material flow conduit (e.g., a portion of a pipeline, tubing or the like) to have a cyclonic flow (i.e., vortex or swirling) profile. Advantageously, the cyclonic flow profile centralizes flow toward the central portion of the flow passage, thereby reducing magnitude of laminar flow. Such cyclonic flow profile provides a variety of other advantages as compared to a parabolic flow profile (e.g., increased flow rate, reduce inner pipeline wear, more uniform inner pipe wear, reduction in energy consumption, reduced or eliminated slugging and the like).

The helicopter search light further comprises at least one actuator, which is configured for selectively moving the reflector between the at least two discrete positions.

Abstract: Position data received wirelessly from a vehicle enrolled in an inspection waiver program are employed to determine when the enrolled vehicle has entered a geofenced area, associated to an inspection station. After determining that the enrolled vehicle is in the geofenced area, and if the enrolled vehicle has a valid inspection waiver, a bypass confirmation can selectively be provided to the vehicle operator, authorizing the operator to bypass the inspection station. The task of determining when an enrolled vehicle is in the geofenced area associated to an inspection station can be performed using a processor disposed in the vehicle, or at a remote location separate from both the vehicle and the inspection station, or at the inspection station.
